Quick Thought:
Well after several months viewing fan service-oriented anime I felt on top of the world, so why not watch Knights Of Ramune? Fan service, right? I mean, no real crazed fanboy could turn down the chance to watch something suggested 18 and over or starts and ends with the words “Hen and “Tai”, right? But I digress. Not lets get into the review and find out if Knights Of Ramune survived the chopping block.
Content: D-
Well, I should have known first off that something was wrong when “From the screenwriter of The Slayer’s" was printed on the front of the DVD box. First couple of episodes were somewhat interesting but hardly anything that could keep me watching throughout the whole series. Knights Of Ramune’s main cast consisted of holy virgins Cacao, and parfait. After an interesting opening sequence or rather the holy ritual (version 2.0 no less) for holy virgins, the story goes into outer space where Cacao and Parfait are to find the champion of the galaxy in order to cease the destruction of the galaxy that’s being threatened by (once again..Drum roll please) an evil force! Imprisoned under the grounds of planet T he lay waiting for someone to awaken him. While entering outer space they encounter a large fleet of ships that are kidnapping children from different regions of space. So Parfait and Cacao go ahead and find out what’s going on and eventually rescue the children held hostage. This is where our third heroine comes in. Lemonade who ends up tagging along and eventually grows on Parfait and quickly becomes the comedic and cute one in the series. Somewhere in the 2nd episode they meet the 4th Knight of Ramune who isn’t all they expected. More of a sadistic and raving perverted lunatic (Hey..This guy's alright) he ultimately becomes the bad guy and granted he is trying to prevent the destruction of the galaxy in his own way, but later he finds out that things aren’t going to go down as planned. With all of the nudity you could ask for and silly remarks from the quirky blob/sponge piece of poop dubbed ‘PQ’ Knights of Ramune while a good anime lacks a lot of content and story to keep you entertained for more than two or three episodes.

Well, I had no beef with the English dub, actually I thought it was good. I watched practically the whole series in English dub, and im more of a subtitle man myself. But the English dub gets a good grade from me. For the Japanese dub, well it was good but it just goes to show how right I was when I said, “You’re not going to be able to stand more than 2 episodes"...The loud cute voices didn't do it for me this time. The Dolby digital wasn’t much help, unless you WANT to hear a woman orgasm in clear unadulterated surround sound…oh yea.

Every fan has his/her type of animation they like to see while watching their anime. This friend, as Austin powers would put it, “wasn’t my bag baby”. The characters didn’t appeal to me as very eye appealing. Nothing about them really sparked much interest in me, not too much originality on them. But then again this was a fan service oriented DVD…So im not going to point fingers.
Box Art: B+
Actually, I really dug the box art for KOR. The characters do look more vibrant and more interesting as if this had some potential to trick me into paying the $29.99 price tag. But definitely good box art. This so earned its fat ‘B+’.
DVD menu: N/A
Well, what can I say? Typical CPM menu not much to go on here.
Extra Features: B
Extra features were interesting. The sneak peeks and character sketches on the DVD-Rom were nice to check out so I thought that was something to look forward too after watching Knights of Ramune.
