Daryl Sabara

It's always distressing for a fan when their letter and S.A.S.E. sent to a celebrity gets trashed and they never receive anything back. It's also hard for fans to be accepted when they're upset after they never receive an autograph - they know they are not entitled to one, but they can't help feeling miserable that their favourite actor doesn't make a small effort to connect with those who keep him in the business in the first place. Check out this quote from an article about Daryl Sabara, best known as being a star of Spy Kids but also appearing in Keeping up with the Steins and having a guest appearance on House:

"The kids went to orientation and Daryl was mobbed by the entire student body. The school had to call the police."
It's unfortunate, because if Daryl had actually taken the time to send autographs to fans by mail, I doubt as many people would be mobbing him. Going to public school can't be easy when you're famous but if everybody knows they can get your autograph for the price of three postage stamps, there wouldn't have been quite as many mobbers.

Even the star of House, Hugh Laurie, takes the time to answer his fan mail by sending autographs to everyone who asks. It's amazing when you can get the autograph of the star of a show but not a kid who had one guest appearance! Of course, House is a really engaging show with great writing, but everybody knows that Hugh Laurie is a great part of the appeal and did anybody consider that part of it could be because he treats his fans so well?

Daryl doesn't care about his fans, so why should the fans care about Daryl? Skip his movies and don't write him letters.

Disclaimer: I used to be a huge fan of Daryl. I thought he was great and I enjoyed watching his movies. I tried sending him a fan letter and S.A.S.E. - nothing. I wrote again this time including a picture as well so he could just sign it and stick it back in the S.A.S.E. Over the next couple of years my cousin and I tried a few more times, but now we've given up. We know Daryl is busy, but when we saw how many of our favourite actors - who can't be any less busier or with less mail than him - signed autographs for us, we realised that Daryl really couldn't care less for us and wasn't worth the bother. It could be that his agency isn't passing on the mail, and it isn't Daryl's fault, and in that case hopefully the site will help someone realise this.
