Update Driver

We will use the update driver process to correct an inproperly installed device driver. This is often a shorter process than completely removing and reinstalling the device. In most cases we will need the sbc express cd in the rom drive, as it contains the drivers we will most likely be installing. In the case of a 4060, the downloaded drivers are needed.

1) Click start, right click my computer, and left click properties

2) Select the hardware tab and click device manager

3) Right click the device to be updated and left click update driver

4) Make sure that the wizard is defaulted to install the software automatically and click next

5) The wizard will search for the correct drivers

* If the wizard determines that the best drivers are already in use, it will display this screen. Otherwise it will proceed to the next step *

6) When the wizard locates drivers, it will copy the necessary files

7) After the wizard finishes copying the files, this screen will appear. Click Finish

*Note, if the wizard says that it cannot locate a suitable driver for the device, you may try specifying the location of the driver files on the sbc express cd.*

1) Start the wizard over, and select install from a specific location, and click next.

2) Make sure that search removable media and include this location in the search are checked, and either type the location of the drivers in the box, or click the browse button and navigate to it.

3) Click next. The rest of the process should be the same as the automatic search.
