Mad Ghost's Capture |
|
Acting on a tip, this reporter went to the DoLlar's flat at thirteen hundred hours on Friday the Thirteenth last, and talked his way in, on pretense of being from The Spiritual Welfare Agency. With this reporter was Fiacra O'Ferrule of The Poets Spiral, who said he had reason to believe that foul play was intended to the spirit of the late Dara McDaid, Poet of the People. In the living room we found the DoLlars, along with a tall, thin man, clothed entirely in mouldy black. Although his hat was pulled down over his eyes and his coat collar turned up over his ears, this reporter had no difficulty in recognising the man as the self-styled spiritual bounty hunter, The Shadow. He had a necklace of what appeared to be teeth in one hand, and in his other hand he had a sort of wand made from dried herbs and rushes. When questioned about his intentions, he replied that he had been hired by the DoLlars to put Dara McDaid(deceased) under restraint. The DoLlars said that the spirit of Dara McDaid was trespassing in their flat and they were within their rights in having him evicted. The spirit of McDaid shrieked that it had prior rights and demanded justice, but was brutally cut off in midshriek by a wave of The Shadow's wand This reporter was about to draw attention to the discrepancies in the descriptions of the action to be taken between the DoLlars and The Shadow, when the voice of McDaid was heard again, shrieking that the flat was his and the DoLlars were the trespassers. The Shadow countered with a shout that Dara McDaid(desceased) was now in his power and that he might as well stop resisting. He rattled his necklace of bones and McDaid gurgled horribly. Fiacra O'Ferrule asked The Shadow on what authority he was placing O'Daid's spriit under restraint. The Shadow displayed sixty-two identity cards and warrants, one of which revealed that he was employed by the local police branch on "Spiritual Matters" and granting him "Extraordinary Powers" of subjugation. Fiacra O'Ferrule gave it as his opinion that as an entity, even if not a living one, O'Daid was entitled to a fair trial, like every other being, living or dead. The Shadow said that O'Daid would have his trial and a chance to put his side of the case, although if he (The Shadow) had his way, the likes of McDaid would be erased from the Spiritual Plane altogether, and would be no loss. |
