People normally ask me if I miss the USA. My answer is normally, "Not America on the whole, but people and things, yes." Luckily, I get to speak to most of the people on a regular basis. The things, on the other hand, are more difficult to come by.
So this is a sort of "What I miss about America" wishlist. If you're putting together a swap package for me, or would be willing to MAKE a swap for any of these items, or if you just love me and want to send me something out of the kindness of your heart (Hey, it could happen!) here are a few things you could go for:
Photographs from Michigan-especially from around Eaton Rapids. (Difficult, I know, if you live anywhere else.) Places in particular: The Island and Main Street. Events: varsity football games and parades. Actual photographs preferable but .jpgs on disc work too.
Lipsmackers. I can't get these here. This brand in particular, not just any old lipgloss-though I am obsessed with lipgloss. I love the bigger versions of Lipsmackers most because they're harder for me to loose. :)
White cheddar popcorn or white cheddar popcorn seasoning. They eat SWEET popcorn here and think putting anything on popcorn is sacralige. (Heathens.)
Chicago-style popcorn. The idea of mixing popcorns to Brits is absured.
Hand and body lotions from Bath and Body Works. They don't let you order from outside the country. :( I especially love seasonal scents.
Etertainment Weekly. Oh, man, do I miss this magazine. I don't even care how old the copy is, as long as it's in good shape. Seriously, I would love you forever.
100 % cotton yarn. I FINALLY found a place here that sells this-for $6-$10! Crazy!
Velveeta cheese. Yum....Either in a jar or a small block.
Small Reeces Peanut Butter Cups, Whoppers, peppermints or Junior Mints. Quality.
Heat wraps for your hands. Tried these the last time I visited my folks and they are WONDERFUL when the arthritis is playing up. Can I find them here? No, of course not. Because British people would rather moan...
SMALL jars of: grape jelly and apple butter. I LOVE these but I'm the only one who does so they have to be small jars.
JELLO and KOOL AID They don't know what they're missing here. I mean...Jello shots! :)
