Billy Bonds MBE.

Bonzo was everything you could ask for in a Captain. Good ball skills, a fighter and a goal scorer. He had the lot !

As the captain of West Ham United after Bobby Moore left, Billy Bonds had a hard act to follow. But, he took the job on in his own style and made a brilliant captain and role model to all who came to the club.

He lifted 2 FA Cups with the the club and still holds the record for appearances in Claret & Blue.

His move into management was not so successful and eventually saw him replaced by Harry Redknapp. Personally I think Bonzo was badly let down by the attitude of the players he had and under different circumstances would have made a better job with the team.

Having said that, Billy Bonds remains an absolute legend amongs't the fans and will ever be remembered as the no nonsense, socks around ankles player that he was.
