Pale Rose

What is a rose?

A rose is a symbol of love.

It is a symbol of friendship and hope.

How can a rose be paled?

                                                                           -               -               -

"Mukashi . . Mukashi . ."

"Once upon a midnight dreary, under the stars and moon, there was a prince and a princess .. .. "

Ahiru sighed with much content as the pale white rose in front of her, began to unfold its many petals. The rose, of course, was not really a rose but a young prince unveiling his once shielded heart and the girl, was not really a girl, but a beautiful princess hidden behind the facade of a duck. The young girls innocent, sky-blue eyes sparkeled luminously at the sight of the dancing prince, and she once again gave a content sigh.

All of this time

Guess I must have been blind

Not to see you and me

We're picture perfect

Now baby we've been friends

For such a long, long time

We've been through lessons and we've been through cries

Her breath short and silent, she quietly muttered her compliments to the dancing prince for she, herself, was a huge fan of the prince. It was days like this, she wished time would stop. It was hours like these that made her wishing for eternal happiness for the prince. As her wishes soon turned into prayers, then dreams, she unconciously turned into the figure of hope and love, Princess TuTu.

But lately have you seen

The way my tongue gets tied

Can't hardly speak when I look into your eyes

It's because of the way I'm feelin'

It's somethin' I never dreamed

And our love has a different meaning

It took so long to reveal but now I know it

The prince, oblivious to the adoration directed to him along with the sudden change of company, continued to dance with the same, gentle smile on his face he had while dancing the pax de deux with his one and true love, Princess TuTu.

As his dance came to a close, he slowly opened his light, chocolate brown eyes, all the while, expecting to see his friend, Ahiru.

A pause, a breath, a silent intake.

" Pri-Princess TuTu," his words shook with happiness as he saw her ocean blue eyes locked onto his, " You're here."

The princess let a small smile form on her lips, " Ouji."

All of this time, guess I must have been blind

Not to see you and me we're picture perfect

I should be yours, baby you should be mine

Meant to be, can't you see

We're picture perfect

I'll be yours, be mine

We're picture perfect

Forever picture perfect

Eyes locked on the other, the prince muttered reverently of his love for her and the princess blushed shyly. It was truly an innocent way of showing affection for a loved one, and it matched the couple exceptionally well.

" May I have this dance?" he asked the young girl curiously.

Letting a smile, once again, grace her fairy-like features, she gracefully accepted the inviting hand, "Of course, Ouji, I'd love to have this dance."

My heart keeps tellin' me

Make up your mind about whatcha mean

You've been holding back for too long

You know it makes good sense

Best of lovers are the best of friends

I guess that we should have known all along

Everyone thinks it's so romantic

They say we're two of a kind

And the more that I think about it

The more that I realize what I've been missing

His eyes shining with enormous amount of affection for the young girl, he kneeled down, just as a prince does for a princess, and gently pressed his lips onto her hand, inch by inch, " I'm honored to have this dance with you, Princess TuTu."

All of this time, guess I must have been blind

Not to see you and me we're picture perfect

I should be yours, baby you should be mine

Meant to be, can't you see

We're picture perfect

I'll be yours, be mine

We're picture perfect

Forever picture perfect

As if on cue, soft melodies from the piano was heard in the small room. Hands holding the other, they headed toward the center of the room and bowed.

And so, the prince, along with his beloved princess, danced the dance, most widely known as the pax de deux.
