Background

Here you can find some screencaps I made of some of the places

that are inspired into the german town. I added a pic of the real place

next to the screencaps so you can compare them. ^^

You can see similarities between this building in Nördlingen and the facade of

the school. Even the bridge is there, and also those archs near the water.

The first picture is the big tower that appears in most of Princess Tutu episodes.

Well, it's based on 'Daniel' tower, the 90 m high bell tower of the late Gothic

Hall Church of St. George. The construction of the tower began in 1454 and was

completed in 1639. It's name is derived from a passage in the book of Daniel.

There are 350 steps to reach the top, but the view it's said to be very pretty ^^

You can see here the walls that surround Kinkan town in different points of view

and the tower of the main gate.  At the other side you can see a pic of the walls of

Nördlingen. Eleven towers watch over the surroundings and five gates lead into the city.

The most imposing is the Löpsinger Gate (the one in the pic). The gate dates from 1592,

it now contains the Town Wall Museum.

Do you remember that restaurant where Neko-sensei and the goat were talking?

It has appeared several times in the series. This building is based on the old Schranne.

It was the former grain trading place. Now it's a Pizzeria.

This is the house where Aotoa took Fakir to make the training to achieve

Drosselmeyer's power. It's based on the Municipal Hall. It was originally

the church of a Franciscan monastery built in 1233.

In episode 12 Edel-san shows Fakir and Ahiru a hidden way to find Mytho.

She puts a red jewell into the figure of stone and the secret door opens.

This belongs to the oldest stone-built house in the town, dating back to the 13th century.

From 1313, after it had been purchased by the Heilsbronn Monastery, until 1382 it

was used as a trading house. Since 1382 it has been in continual use as the Town Hall.
