Recommended Personal Equipment Checklist For A Weekend Campout
Consider Weather Conditions When Packing
Remember ... BE PREPARED !
□ Class “A” Uniform ( always wear to and from campouts)
□ Class “B” t-shirts
□ suitable shoes ( no open toed shoes or sandals )
□ Hat
□ Gloves (cold weather)
□ Rainsuit or poncho
□ Sweater, Jacket, Coat ( Cold weather and cool fall evenings)
□ Underwear
□ Socks
□ Hankerchiefs
□ PJ’s or sleeping attire
□ Extra quantity of clothing for changes
□ Washcloth
□ Toothbrush and paste
□ Hand soap or towelettes for personal hygiene
□ Brush or comb
□ Knapsack, duffle bag, or Backpack ( to carry your gear in )
□ Sleeping Bag
□ Ground cloth ( for under sleeping bag ), cot, or pad
□ Tent ( 2 man ) with ground cloth for under tent
□ Pillow
□ Flashlight with extra batteries
□ Personal First Aid Kit ( check with your Patrol Leader or Patrol Asst. Scoutmaster if unsure what to have in your First Aid Kit )
□ Pen and/ or pencil
□ Sunscreen
□ BOY SCOUT HANDBOOK
□ Insect Repellent ( non-aerosol)
□ Canteen or water bottle ( 1 quart minimum )
□ Fork, Knife, Spoon, Plate, Bowl, cup ( a frisbee works great in place of a bowl and plate ) Make sure that the scouts name is on his belongings.
□ Camp stool or chair
□ Ziplock bags (1 or 2 ½ gallon size ) Pack all clothing for each day in a 2 ½ gallon ziplock bag. Pack books, paper, pens, etc. in a ziplock bag. Eating utensils, cups, etc. can all go into a bag. And all other items can go into a bag. That keeps incidental spills off of clothing, and all clothing dry !!!
□ DO NOT BRING THE FOLLOWING TO CAMP:
Any radios, CD players, Gameboys, or other electronic equipment, explosives, alcohol, or other flammables.
