Steime (other spellings are Stymie or Steimie) is my favorite dolphin. She is such a wonderful, sweet dolphin.
She is very sweet with people. She does not like to interact much, and rarely will come over. During feeding time she will take, a fish then leave before anyone can touch her. However, when she does come up it is great. She lies there making cute little noises. She seems to keep to herself for the most part, not interacting much with the other dolphins, except for Dottie. The 2 are always seen swimming together. Her best friend Dottie gave birth to Nitro just 3 days before she gave birth to Zana, so their calves will get to grow up together. She came back out to RPP with her calf in March 2004, when Zana was only 9 months old. At the beginning of this year Steime, along with Dottie, was moved to DIP. Zana is weaned from Steime. Steime is used in DIP.
She was moved to the show in March 2007 to get her ready to have her calf. She gave birth in May and can now be seen at the stadium swimming alongside her calf.
Physical description: She is a small dolphin, but a little on the chubby side, even when not pregnant. However, when she is pregnant she is extra chubby. She has a large head, and a huge melon. She has a short, thick rostrum. She has dots along her back. She has small squinty eyes, and totally worn down teeth. Her bottom chin curls over the top jaw a little bit and it is yellowish in color.
Dolphin you may be most likely to confuse her with: Dottie, but Steime is rounder, also Daphne, but Stieme is larger.
