All of the dolphins at the dolphin show have their own individual names. None of them is named Dolly, just as none of the orcas is actually named Shamu. Like the name Shamu, I am sure one of the first dolphins was named Dolly. Dolly is a stage name that has been used for years.

Bacardi
An older female dolphin that was born 4/4/81 to mother Athena. She performs in the show often, and plays Dolly. She is also used often for Trainer for a day. She is a smaller dolphin with many rake marks. She has a long, thin head, and a long thin rostrum. She is short and slender. She has a nick in her left tail fluke.
calves: Malibu

Sandy
female bottlenose dolphin.
An older female that was captured from the wild in the 1980s. She has given birth to 5 calves, and has a 3-year-old calf, Sydney, who was just recently separated from her. She is newer to DIP. She looks a lot like Misty, but has more rake marks, and a smaller head. I actually think she looks a lot like Penny from far away. She is very thin and dark.

Melanie
an adult female
She is the dolphin with the least amount of rake marks. She has a short, round head and a short, thick rostrum.
mother: Scarback, who is currently at RPP with her current calf and Melanie's new brother, Pacino
calves: Madison

Sydney
a young male
birthdate: 10/9/2000
mother: Sandy
He is a dark dolphin with very little rake marks and the smallest and the youngest out of the 4 boys.

Kenobi
a young male
birthdate: 7/21/1999
mother: Toby, who is currently one of the DIP dolphins at SWC.
Siblings: Maguire (same mother)
Kenobi spends most of his time with Bunsen, Sydney and Polka. He also spends a lot of time with the pilot whales. The 4 young boys have recently become a big part of the show and they are now introduced as the young boys. All but Sydney, who was born a show dolphin, spent their time growing up in the Animal Care facilities and later at RPP. Kenobi was one of them.

Polka
a young male
birthdate: 5/21/2000
mother: Dottie
siblings: Nitro (born June 14, 2003, currently in AC)
At the beginning of 2002 after spending 4 months at RPP, he and Dottie were sent to DIP. They were then separated and Dottie was sent back to RPP and Polka became a show dolphin. He is most often introduced as Maverick in the dolphin show. He has a very cute face and huge eyes. While Bunsen and Polka were at RPP together, they became good friends and hung out a lot. Now at the show, they remain good friends and they are often kept together. At RPP Polka had little and close to no rake marks but since he was moved his body is pretty much full of them.

Bunsen
a young male
birthdate: 9/30/1998
mother: Beaker, who is currently at RPP after being switched from DIP in April 2002.
father: Bodine, who is currently in the Animal Care facility, sharing a tank with Sparky. He is one of 2 Pacific Bottlenose dolphins at SWC.
grandmother: Gracie, currently at RPP, the other Pacific Bottlenose dolphin at SWC.
siblings (all by same father): Copper, Maguire and Charlie
Bunsen was at RPP in 1999 and the beginning of 2000 along with Beaker, then they both got sent over to DIP and he again came back to RPP without Beaker this time on may 26, 2001 and he stayed until January 27, 2002 until he was sent back to the show. He is currently doing the show, and is also introduced as Duncan and recently has been introduced as Zeke. He is a darker little dolphin, with a large head and large, dark rostrum. His under belly is spotted in-between the dark gray and light gray. He has many rake marks. He has a nick in his left tail fluke. He is a very creative little dolphin, and smart. He is doing very well at the show.

Shadow
Shadow's real name is actually 9-lives, but is more known as Niner and is known to the public as Shadow. She is one of only 2 performing pilot whales in the united states, the other one is Bubbles, who also lives at SW. Shadow is a female short fin pilot whale estimated to be in her early to middle 20s. She is the smaller of the 2 pilot whales. She has been through a lot in her life, hence the name 9-lives. She lives with Bubbles and the bottlenose dolphins at the dolphin stadium at SWC. She was captured 12/10/1982, and was taken directly to SWC after capture.

Bubbles
Bubbles is the other pilot whale at SWC. She is a female shot fin pilot whale. She is thought to be in her mid 40s, making her the oldest cetacean at SWC. She is a lot larger than Shadow. She lives at the dolphin stadium along with Shadow and the bottlenose dolphins. She was captured on 9/6/1966 and was taken to Marineland of the Pacific. The same park where Orky II and Corky II were held. She stayed there until Sea World bought and closed the park in 1987. She was then transferred to SWC and has stayed there ever since.
