Polka was also born in animal care and came out to RPP at 1 1/2 years old. While at RPP he was extremely interactive. Spending much more time interacting than with his mother. There were even times that he chose to interact rather than eat (during public feedings). His last month or so at RPP he became a big momma's boy, and spent most of his time with Dottie. At the beginning of 2002 after spending only 4 months at RPP, he and Dottie were sent to DIP. They were separated pretty quickley and Dottie was sent back to RPP. Polka became a show dolphin. He is most often introduced as Maverick in the dolphin show. While Bunsen and Polka were at RPP together, they became good friends and hung out a lot. Bunsen was moved to the show along with Polka. I do not know if their friendship continued but the two were kept together. Bunsen has since been moved to the Navy. Polka is no kept with Pacino, Kenobi and Sydney most often.
Physical description: He has a very cute face and huge eyes. At RPP Polka had little or close to no rake marks but since he was moved his body is pretty much full of them.
Dolphin you may be most likely to confuse him with: Pacino, but Polka is larger and darker. His melon is also more square.
