Name: Cascade
Species: Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin
Gender: Female
Captured: 8/19/1988
Transfers:
from the Navy to SWC on 6/7/2005
She was transferred on a bredding loan from the US Navy in San Diego. She spent a long time back in animal care along with Kolohe. She moved out to RPP at the beginning of 2006. She seems to get along very well with Scarback and the two can be seen swimming together frequently. Crunch will swim with them, but Cascade sticks to Scarbacks side. She is not all that interactive because she is a bit timid, this may change as she adapts to RPP. She was moved back to AC not long after being in RPP in 2006 because of a pregnancy. In June she was "due any day now," so I'm assuming since I never saw a calf that it was a stillborn. She has had successful calves in the past while at the Navy. As of the beginning of May 2007 she is back out at RPP. She seems to have found a good friend in Dottie, but the next time I saw her she was sticking to Bodine like glue. She wouldn't even leave him to eat. I have a feeling this relationship will be short lived and she will probably go back to Dottie.
Physical description: Thin, dark gray. She has a small scar in front of her right eye. Rake mark free.
Dolphin you may be most likely to confuse her with: Cometta and Dottie- She is much smaller than both of them
