Bacardi was a very good performer. She was often in the shows and she was also used for trainer for a day. I have never had the privilege of meeting her, and I feel for those that she was close to. I do know that her and her daughter, Malibu, were really close. The relationship the two had reminded me much of that of Takara and Kasatka. Bacardi was quite dominant and Malibu knew it. Whenever the other dolphins were picking on Malibu Bacardi came to the rescue. This was why Malibu was very shy with the other dolphins when she first came to RPP, what is a little dolphin supposed to do without her mother? Malibu soon got over it and was able to make friends with both humans and dolphins at RPP. Malibu was reunited with her mother during the summer, so she was probably there for her death. She learned how to get along without Bacardi before. Although she probably misses Bacardi a lot I hope all will go well for Malibu. Rest in peace beautiful Bacardi.
