Definitions of Assignments




First Line

Basically, this means that the battalions in this category are expected to be at the front lines in any threads we are involved in. They need to be available frequently and need to be able to remain calm in a variety of situations, from TV shows to politics to religion to board issues. They also need to be familiar with the Code System.



Support:

These battalions will back up the first-line battalions by being available at times where the first-line battalion officers aren't able to be online as much, or when there is a particularly sticky thread, or simply when a battalion CO or the operation CO feels additional personnel are needed. The officers in these corps (main corps and aid corps) can also help organize operations, make suggestions, give advice to officers, supply officers for the first line, etc.



Morale Support:

Officers in these battalions will encourage and help officers who are burned out at the front lines, discouraged, or have been going through difficult times (see Code Dark), and they may also help Ex Isle through making positive posts when their other duties are light.



Recovery:

Role is similar to Morale Support, and also includes getting officers out of tight spots.

R&D:

These are battalions and officers in research and development for different ways for Argosy to respond and new 'armaments' (note the quote marks ;) ) to be utilized in future engagements. Other battalions may be called upon to assist during low-duty times. Research and development may also involve proposing new battalions, missions, etc.
