Current Argosy Happenings
What's happening in Argosy right now?

We are presently on Argosy 106: This IS the thread you're looking for!

November 14, 2005:
--I really don't have a great deal to say at the moment. We haven't had any members join up recently, nor any new battalions formed. There's been the usual bad luck with actually doing anything, as per usual.

--The official Argosy motto is "Hold the Line", in the event that nobody knew that yet. ;) And our 'official quote' is that thing about not being an asshole... see my sig. ;)

--I'm very seriously considering making an official Argosy signature format, so we can spread our propoganda and joy and all that good stuff and not have to restrict our space used very much. Also, it'll let us have the battalion flags, corps flags, and whatever else in it. Stay tuned. Don't forget to bug me about it. :p

--More operations to come. Stay tuned... is anybody reading this? *taps on microphone* :D

July updates:
--Wow, I need to start doing this more regularly. Read the thread! ;)

--Welcome back from leave Gina, who luckily 'escaped' being in the corps chain of command.

--The corps are SET, unless someone leaves. See The Corps Page.

--Somewhere out there, we have flags and whatnot. Really. Seriously. Honestly, guys, I swear it's not my fault this time... I haven't heard from our volunteer who usually does these things.

--By the way, Chipper, Janeta Siri, and Erisinia are the Official Argosy Annoying Reminder People. Beware, for they shall plant flowers on your head, or most likely mine. ;)

--I'm also still cogitating upon the RPG thing; I had plans, and they got totally blown out of the water after the last update. I'll try to remember them soon. That's what the Annoying Reminder People are for. ;)

--Anybody want to be Press Secretary?

March updates:
--eryn and Kaimia stepped down from being co-Assistant Force Leaders.

--Housecleaning was done about a month ago for deportfolioing and battalion folding.

--The corps initiation is underway. CO/XO/second XO have not yet been formally assigned.

--Yeah, discussion is still encouraged. (What? :p I forgot what I was going to put here.)

--I am again accepting applications for senior officer positions via Ex Isle PM. Recommended charactistics for a senior officer are on the rules and regs page.

--IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!! re: threadjacking and doughnut throwing! (From Feb 9, 2004)

Okay.

Part of the decision has been made.

Threadjacking is hereby deemed unacceptable within Argosy unless it is authorized by the Force Leader or an officer the Force Leader has deputized as well as one or two other officers to be determined at a somewhat later date.

If you participate in a threadjack in progress caused by other members of the board, you are doing so as a member of the board and not Argosy specifically.

Those threadjacking without authorization face a fine of 20,000 quatloos even if they say they're not doing it as part of Argosy, and a fine of 100,000 quatloos if they don't say they're not doing it as part of Argosy.

Offering someone a doughnut or other food item is and will remain acceptable if a) another poster has requested it or b) if there is additional, definite on-topic content in the post. Any other restrictions on doughnut-throwing and the activities of the 18409th will be posted at a later date, since the battalion is not always a necessity for threadjacking and does not fall under any complaints about threadjacking all the time.

These changes in policy go into effect immediately. Due to the sometimes annoying nature of the Internet, two weeks are allowed for officers to read the new policy.
