Sanji All about the man behind the site. This bio was written by me and such...it's free to look at, but if I find it copied and pasted on another site without giving me credit and a link back, I'll have Sanji come after you. Ph34r his deadly feet of doom! WARNING! Spoilers contained within! If you don't know about him or haven't read the manga/seen the anime
yet, read at your own risk!

Sanji is called "Sunkist" on many of the subbed DVD's, and there's a good reason why. Folks in the 'States laugh at the
'Sunkist: orange' reference without realizing...his name means "orange" in Chinese! That made me snort some
coffee out my nose when I first saw it, let me tell you.
Sanji had a troubled past. He was living (as far as I could tell) with a bunch of chefs on the sea until it got attacked by a
famous chef pirate named Zeff. Sanji was the only one brave enough, even at a young age (6 or so) to defy the pirate Captain
and try to fight, saying he "wasn't going to be killed" by him. There was a storm brewing all the while, and soon the ship rocked
to one side and Sanji flew overboard, knocked unconscious.
Zeff had been impressed by his courage - and he leaped over to save the boy. In swimming down to reach Sanji, one of his
legs got caught on the anchor's chain. Zeff pulled it tight, slicing his own leg off to dive down and save the boy.
They washed up on a desert island and almost starved to death. Zeff was quite generous about food: giving all that he had to
Sanji. He had saved a batch of gold, and when they were rescued they started the Restaurant Baratie with it: a spot where they
swore to feed everyone that came their way on the open sea.
The Restaurant Baratie is a giant, floating restaurant shaped like a fish. Here Sanji learned how to fight - Zeff was a master
of kicking skills and he taught him everything he knew -- and to cook from the former Pirate.
Sanji later joined Rufi (Luffy) to search the better for "All Blue" - a legendary ocean where all the fish in the world are
supposed to live. He considers himself a gentleman and a ladies' man...indeed, he goes crazy at the sight of any female that's
half-decent looking.
We never see that one eye - ever -- it's sort of an enigma. *lol* Fans have long wondered whether he even has one
or not!
