Air Master

Mina brings a lost kitten to school looking to find a new owner for it. Renge takes an instant liking to it and wants to keep it. All the others aren't sure if she can afford it. After the kitten falls out of the 3rd story window while playing with Renge, they decide to post a notice for a new owner, even though the kitten is saved by Maki. After school, the girls go to a restaurant and hold their own fast eating contest with the loser paying everyones bill. Renge wins easily. Mina, who usually pays, tries extra hard and is not last. She has some rice on her face and Maki picks it off for her. Mina returns the favor to Maki in an attention getting manner. Renge is determined to keep the kitten and takes off with it. She remembers the remarks that there isn't any part time jobs for a girl whose only skill is to eat really fast. She sees an ad for a eating contest with a large cash prize and goes for it. Then an unsigned message comes that is a challenge for Air Master. Maki and company run there. Kaori arrives and even though she didn't post the message, challenges Maki. Before they fight, a new guy arrives and announces he is the one who sent the message. His name is Tokita Shinnoske and he is skilled in fighting with a staff. Kaori objects to the match and her and Shinnoske fight. Shinnoske handles Kaori easily and his match with Air Master begins. They fight for some time with Maki only half serious. Shinnoske uses his special move, Mokuren, which nearly connects. Maki mentions that she felt a little of the tension she's looking for from the move and begins fighting seriously. Shinnoske is defeated. Before Maki leaves, Shinnoske notices the school she is from by the uniform. As the girls are heading home, they notice a public tv is covering an eating contest in time to see Renge win. Later, Renge names the kitten Gesaku (masterpiece) and the girls learn Shinnoske has transferred to their school. When asked why, Shinnoske gives a smitten glance toward Maki.
