Brother Dear Brother

Created by : Ikeda Riyoko
Genre : Drama
Optimistic and reserved Misonoo Nanoko begins high school at a reputable all girls school. Her only friend there at the beginning from previous grades is the friendly and outgoing Tomoko. It is exciting at first, getting to meet new people and see new sights. She has chance meetings with some of the school idols like the suave Saint-Juste and the athletic Kaoru no Kimi. Nanoko had planned on joining the cooking club and hanging out with Tomoko and then, out of the blue it seems, she is chosen to be included with the schools social elite. A sorority headed by the revered and feared Miya-sama. This causes some resentment from others who believed they should have been chosen instead of a 'nobody' like Nanoko. Coming to her aid against plots and intimidation's is Mariko, who also was chosen at the same time. Mariko seems to have all the qualifications to be a school idol but has few friends. Nanoko's life gets complicated as she gets involved with others but her optimism and likable personality wins her friends that, together, it seems they can face what lies ahead.

Review
Dated but beautiful artwork. I liked the style and presentation of both the artwork and the story. I also liked the characters and how they interacted. Very pleasant opening theme that grew on me. Very well done soap opera? about developing friendships and relationships. I can't say I've ever really seen anything else like it and not really sure how to categorize it but I can say that is very well done. I couldn't help but get involved in the story. After watching 14 of the 39? episodes I would say any fan of drama would probably like to see this series.
