Kagura Total Security is an independent
agency specializing in cases involving phantom cats. Phantom cats are animated
computer programs that can take the form of humans, cats, or both and can
cause a lot of mischief, especially around electronic equipment. After
a disastrous case where the Kagura group basically opened a door and ran,
they take a case with a phantom cat running wild in a mall. One cat cat
leads them on a merry chase nearly wrecking the mall in the process. It
turns out to be a diversion as Taba and Takemi are busy, the Kagura office
is attacked and the resident phantom Maya is kidnapped. A big case is brewing
but the Kagura agency has no sponsors to take the case. It's up to Taba
to foot the bill and it will take 38 installments just to pay the registration
fee.
