Cooking Master Boy

Mao's family owns a restaurant that is famous because of his mothers excellent cooking. He wants to travel and learn all he can about cooking and be the best chef he can so that when the time comes for him to take over the restaurant, he can do it proudly. Episode 5 - Mao and a friend are trying to get hired at Mei's fathers restaurant but it's not going well. They decide to open a temporary food stand and cook their best dish to impress Mei's father. All night long they practice their cooking but the best they can do is make a dish as good as the restaurant. Good enough is not enough, they want to make something great. At the last minute the answer they are looking falls on Mei. Episode 13-15 - Mao is entered into a Super Chef tournament. The theme for the competition is 'noodles that are not noodles'. The contestants have to cook an original noodle dish that fits the theme and it's going to be graded not only on taste but many other factors as well. After the competition, Mao and Mei meet Shirou. The restaurants in his village have been getting a hard time from an official that was just recently assigned to their area. Shirou had promised everyone that he wouldn't return until he won the Super Chef tournament and could cook well enough to please the new official. Shirou didn't even come close but tells Mao and Mei that he did and 'allows' Mao to become his apprentice. Mao plays along and helps him to cook a good meal for the official but the official says it doesn't have any taste. Something else is wrong and Mao has to find out what it is.
