Gene Shaft

Genre : Sci Fi / Adventure / Drama
In the far future most everybody is genetically engineered, some more so than others. A lot of the way they view themselves and each other is based on their DNA. The ruling council assembles a team of specialists to investigate a huge metal ring that has appeared in near earth space. Transmissions from the ring are traced to one of the moons of jupiter and it's suspected that someone is spying on earth for reasons unknown. The investigation gets underway but before much is learned, they find their crew has been infiltrated by a group that is violently opposed to their actions. They try to sabotage the equipment and to murder Mir but Mir escapes. Soon after, the ring energizes and fires a blast that critically damages the space station and decimates a 500 km diameter area of earth. The teams mission changes to boarding a newly designed and built space cruiser and  first, destroy the ring, then find out who really sent it and for what purpose. The new tasks are hampered by new cpu programs that are full of bugs, the personal/personality conflicts of the crew, and the higher ranks seem to have conflicting agendas.

Review
Drawn very well to excellent at times with seamless cpu graphics mixed in. Some very good character designs. Interesting characters, good character interaction and an involving sci fi story line . The heavy background music helps kick the action into gear when it goes. Episodes 1-5 look very good, potentially an excellent series.
