Grappler Baki
Written by : Keisuke Itagaki Genre : Action / Martial Arts 13 year old Hanma Baki has a dream. He wants to become a strong fighter like his father who is a legend in the fighting arena. He tests his abilities against 100 street thugs and manages to knock out 37. He then challenges Yuri to a sparring match. Yuri has become champion of the light weight division and is now challenging higher weight classes. Yuri hands Baki a stinging defeat. Afterwards Baki decides that conventional ways of training have taken him as far as they can. To beat Yuri, he heads to the mountains to train with the intense and dangerous methods his father used. Meanwhile, a fight has been arranged for Baki with Kaoru, a huge 15 year old reputed to be the best in the underworld fighting circuit. |

Episodes 1-3 looked very good. Drawn and animated very well to excellent at times with some great looking character designs. Lots of action and fairly engrossing inbetween. This would make an excellent story behind a fighting video game. |
