Abenobashi Magic

Shopping District

Written by :
Kishisashi
Genre : Comedy / Adventure
Sasshi and Arumi live in an old section of town, a shopping district that is being renovated with new buildings. Every one they know is moving away, including themselves. From some of the older residents they learn about the history of this section and a legend that everything is protected by 4 magic corner statues. The two decide to go look into the statues as one last adventure together. What they find leads to a doorway that brings them to a dimension where the shopping district is a town in a video game RPG. They are met by Arumi's father, the king of this sword/sorcery land who gives them 800 gold pieces to equip themselves at the shops for a quest to rid the realm of an evil lord. If they can complete their quest, a magic spell will be cast to return home. Figuring out early that the 'rules' of this world is just like the video games, complete with magic, monsters, and luckily, resurrection of dead heroes, they proceed to get to the dungeon that holds the evil lord they must vanquish. Eventually the quest is completed and a little oni appears and casts the spell to send them home, but the spell doesn't quite work. Sasshi and Arumi find themselves in another variation of Abenobashi shopping district. This time its the world of Sci-Fi, Mecha, and fanservice anime. From the beginning they know they have to solve this worlds crisis and find the oni that casts the spell that will hopefully get them home this time.
Review
After watching episodes 1-5, it looks like an excellent comedy/parody adventure. Starts off slow as the characters are introduced but by episode 3, its comedy at breakneck speed. Funny, sometimes hilarious, but mostly fun to watch. If you like anime and like to laugh, you'll like this one. Not for younger viewers.
