Is all not one.

Sitting quietly, doing nothing,
Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself.

The mind of the past is ungraspable;
the mind of the future is ungraspable;
the mind of the present is ungraspable.

No snowflake ever falls in the wrong place.

This whole world reminds me of my dog.
My dog reminds of this whole world.

If you want to climb a mountain, begin at the top.

Life, itself, is already sufficient; what can be sought?
Alas! Look at the stupid ones who seek beyond their limits.

To what shall I compare this life of ours?
Even before I can say
it is like a lightning flash or a dewdrop
it is no more.

Sengai

Entering the forest he moves not the grass;
Entering the water he makes not a ripple.

Before enlightenment I chooped wood and carried water; after enlightenment I chooped wood and carried water.

Slow down and the thing you are chasing will come around and catch you.

Don't bite my finger, look where I'm pointing!

Sitting quietly, doing nothing, everything is achieved.

The blue mountains are of themselves blue mountains;
The white clouds are of themselves white clouds.

Before I had studied Zen for thirty years, I saw mountains as mountains,
and waters as waters.
When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point
where I saw that mountains are not mountains,
and waters are not waters.
But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest.
For it's just that I see mountains once again as mountains,
and waters once again as waters.

Ching-yuan

Everything
just as it is,
as it is,
as is.
Flowers in bloom.
Nothing to add.
