Ruby/Sapphire Pinball - Bonus StagesA note before I start - I'm going to fix the spelling mistake "Affilates" and put up the links on the navigation when I have the time.Anyway. Bonus boards on Ruby/Sapphire pinball. A bonus board is like a reward for doing different things - the standard ones are for catching 3 Pokemon, but you can get others for doing things like hitting switches and then shooting the Ball into Pokemon's mouths. There are, as far as I know, four - two exclusive bonus boards on each table and two accessible to each table. I'll do the Ruby ones first.
Kecleon StageYou have to hit Kecleon 10 times before the timer runs out. This would be easier if there wasn't the annoying fact that Kecleon is invisible. Hit the tree to make the Devon Scope fall, then collect it with the ball to see where Kecleon is. If he starts moving, you can stop him by hitting him with the ball, but I think that they
only count the times that you hit him while he's trying to hide. Eventually the Ball will disappear and Kecleon will fall, surrender flag tightly clutched in tail. Groudon StageI actually think that this stage is easier than the Kyogre stage, and I prefer the music. Hit Groudon once and he generates shields around him which you have to hit with the Ball to reduce. If you're too late in hitting him he will regenerate the shields. All this while having to dodge the annoying fireballs and rocks he shoots. It isn't impossible - you have the word of a (sort of) pinball master. Now the Sapphire ones.
Duskull StageI think they made the Kecleon stage harder than the Duskull stage, and the Kyogre stage harder than the Groudon stage. I like this board a lot! Hit the Duskulls with the ball to (KO?) them. There are about 20, but only 2 appear at once, so you won't get too panicked. After you ...dispose... of those weaklings, hold the Ball steady on a flipper while Dusclops appears. When he starts moving, hit him with the ball. If he remains seemingly frozen, hit him from the side or back. It's quite hard to see whether he's moving, so listen out for the heavy footsteps before hitting the Ball. It only takes five hits for you to complete this stage. Kyogre StageI think that this is the hardest stage in Ruby/Sapphire. Hit Kyogre with the Ball and he'll send out some sort of freezing attack that freezes the Ball for about 10 seconds (just guessing). You can stop him attacking by hitting him when he starts shaking. Then, while the Ball's still frozen, Kyogre uses Whirlpool to create two really annoying whirlpools. If you hit him now you'll probably get sucked into one. Then Kyogre starts diving. Look for bubbles a few seconds before he comes up, then aim the Ball at them. Kyogre comes up and dives down very quickly, so be prepared. If you defeat the Duskull and Kyogre stages twice, you'll actually catch Kyogre afterwards. After you do this, catch 3 more Pokemon and you'll activate the... Rayquaza StageRayquaza floats around and seemingly bounces up and down. You must hit it when it's on the ground. After a bit it'll go up into the sky. Hold the Ball on a flipper and Rayquaza will create two whirlwinds which will take the Ball up into the sky for a couple of seconds and then drop it back down. Then it will create an electric attack (Thunder Wave?) that you should avoid. It's basically the same as the whirlpools and ice attack from the Kyogre stage and the fire attack from Groudon. You should know how to dodge them by now. Keep hitting Rayquaza and eventually you'll get 99,999,999 points. Well done! Now the one(s?) that can be accessed from either board. Spheal StageAccess this stage on Ruby by hitting the switch next to the Chinchou until Whiscash appears. Then shoot the Ball into his mouth. If you drop the Ball while doing this I think it resets so take care. You are one of people that have visited this site. | |||
