ACT 2


First appearance of Motoki and his turtle. At the front counter of the Crown Karaoke Center, he’s starring at his turtle when Usagi comes bouncing in and flashes her Luna Passport at him on the other side of the glass tank. He stares at her through the tank and let’s her go in with her yearly pass. After she leaves, he turns back to his turtle and wonders if they even have yearly passes.

ACT 3



Motoki is starring at his turtle when Ami and Usagi enter the building. Usagi flashes her yearly pass and continues on with Ami following more slowly and timidly shows her pass and asks if they can get in with it. He stares through the tank at her in disbelievement when Usagi comes back and pulls Ami with her saying of course it’s okay. Motoki looks back at his turtle and asks it if they can get in with those passports.

ACT 5



At the Crown Karaoke Center, Motoki is now talking to his turtle, telling it they will go for a walk next time. Ami walks in and he notices she’s alone and asks if she and her friends got into a fight or something, to which she answers that she’s meeting them here. He turns back to the turtle and asks it if it’s okay if they go next time. Ami looks at him worried and asks if she and her friends look like they’re not close. Motoki stares at her, surprised.

ACT 7



Motoki’s starring at his turtle when Usagi walks in. He welcomes her with a good afternoon and when she doesn’t answer, he asks her what’s wrong. She bows a good afternoon and hands him a bag with food in it for his turtle. Motoki thanks her, hopes it’s no problem, and says he (the turtle) will be so happy. Usagi says it’s not a problem and Motoki pets his turtle, asking it if it’s great. Usagi shyly asks him his name before he can get into full-blown turtle mode. He answers Furuhata Motoki and asks if she’s Usagi, because he’s heard her friends call her that. He then pulls out three tickets for the amusement park that he had forgotten about and they expire the next day, and hands them to her. He asks if she’d like to go with him and a couple friends as thanks for the turtle food. Usagi agrees. [The episode features Motoki and gang at the amusement park, but the turtle wasn’t invited.]

ACT 8



Since it doesn’t seem to be very busy at the Karaoke Center, Motoki is holding his turtle and taking digital photos of him and it. Usagi rushes in, flashes her pass, and continues on. Motoki tries to apologize for their amusement park outing and his claustrophobia, but she’s already gone.

ACT 11



Mikichi, the turtle, looks up at the smiling Motoki. He then notices Usagi peeking around the corner and quickly turns away and fixes his hair in a hand mirror. He turns back around and welcomes her. She asks if Chiba Mamoru is there today and a disappointed Motoki says he can’t always ask him to look after the place. Usagi’s happy at the news and Motoki asks if they had a fight, to which Usagi replies that they didn’t fight, he’s just always annoying her. Motoki tells her Mamoru’s a good guy, then quickly changes the subject, asking if she knew Aino Minako is in the hospital.

ACT 13



Mamoru’s in his apartment when the phone rings. Motoki’s sad voice comes over the line saying he doesn’t know what to do. At the Karaoke Center, Usagi enters to find the place in wild disarray. Motoki pops up from behind the counter, his face ghost-white. He moans that he has nothing to live for and explains that his turtle Kamikichi has disappeared. He was cleaning the cage, put Kamikichi in a bucket, but it fell over and he escaped. He moans again that he can no longer live, when Mamoru enters with the news that he found a person who has a turtle that looks like Kamikichi. Motoki, Mamoru, and Usagi arrive at a yellow house surrounded by a vine-covered fence. They walk towards the door, Motoki and Usagi calling for Kamikichi-kun. a window opens and a man looks at them. The two scream and try to climb over the fence to get away, when Mamoru stops them. He tells them to look more carefully and they see the man is holding Kamikichi up with a smile. Motoki happily takes his turtle and tells it that it’s good the man found him. He thanks the man, who tells him he’s happy he found the owner and he (Motoki) should hurry and feed him. Motoki leaves happily with Kamikichi.

ACT 14



Motoki greets Mamoru, who’s entered the Karaoke Center and says that Kamekichi has been inactive and should he take him for a walk? Mamoru’s remembering when Kunzite inserted some hair into Sailor Moon’s neck when Motoki thanks him for taking care of Mikichi before, Ami approaches, supporting Usagi, and both boys wonder if she’s okay. Ami replies she’s just sick and Mamoru offers to carry Usagi home. Motoki reassures Ami that Mamoru’s a friend and the three-some leave, Usagi on Mamoru’s back.

ACT 15


Motoki holds up a picture of a turtle against the tank, moving it like it’s walking. He explains she’s Maririn, and Mikichi should think about getting married. Mamoru comes in and tells Motoki to worry more about himself than turtles. Motoki protests that he’s fine, but Mamoru asks about Usagi and how they seemed to have fun at the park the previous year. Motoki replies that she seems to have had a change of heart, and is about to continue when a few girls enter, including Usagi and Naru. Naru asks about a boy Usagi liked, but Usagi asks her to stop while their friends scream happily. Motoki asks how she (Usagi) is doing and Usagi clarifies for her friends that she was sick and fell asleep in the karaoke room. Motoki mentions that Mamoru carried her home on his back. Surprised, Usagi looks at Mamoru, who looks down at Kamekichi. Her friends start to complain, but Usagi thanks Mamoru, who replies it was no problem. Naru looks at Usagi, smiling mischievously. A little while later, Naru leaves the karaoke room and walks up to the counter where Motoki is showing another picture of a female turtle to Kamekichi. He says her name is Jasshi. Naru looks through the other side of the tank and remarks that Kamekichi’s a cute turtle. She then turns to Motoki and asks if he’ll do something for her.

ACT 19


Valentine’s Day. Motoki places a can of turtle food next to Kamekichi’s tank and says it’s from his (Mikichi’s) girlfriend. He then pouts, asking the turtle why he gets a present and he (Motoki) is left to die. Ami enters and reaches into her bag. Motoki gets excited that maybe she has something for him, but his face falls as she pulls out her passport. He looks at her other bag and sees yarn. As she walks off, Motoki comments that there’s no shape to the chocolate. Later that day, Motoki’s feeding his pet, commenting on how envious he feels. Makoto walks up and pulls out a dark green muffler. She explains that it was made for homework, but she doesn’t like it. She hands it to Motoki and says she’ll be happy if he takes it, as a thank you for the information about Mamoru and Hina. She turns and walks away while Motoki happily shows the muffler to Kamekichi and goes on about how happy he is. Makoto walks through the doors saying how she envies Motoki because he doesn’t have any worries. The doors close as Motoki screams how amazing it is.

ACT 20


Motoki is wearing the muffler Makoto gave him and is gloating to Kamekichi how he’s no the only one in a love situation. Makoto enters, says good afternoon and flashes her pass. Motoki welcomes her and as she walks away he calls to her that the muffler’s warm. Makoto waves at him over her shoulder while Motoki calls back thanking her, climbing up onto the counter, waving back.

ACT 21


Out of the blue (no pun intended), Ami tells Makoto she wants to go the amusement park. Makoto is watching her ride the merry-go-round when someone calls her name. She turns and sees Motoki running up to her, holding a box. He opens it to show Kamekichi inside and explains that he wanted him to get some fresh air. She mentions she’s with Ami and turns to see the girl fainted on the horse. she calls for the ride to be stopped and runs over. A short while later, Motoki is behind the wheel of his green car, driving Makoto and a sleeping Ami to the hospital. Makoto apologizes for troubling him, but he waves her off with a no problem. He shows her he’s wearing the muffler and thanks her again, explaining no one else gave him a Valentine. Makoto starts to say there was no meaning behind it and he replies her knows, and this is his way of paying her back, by driving them to the hospital. At their destination, Makoto is waiting while tests are done on Ami when Motoki hands her a hot drink. He reassures her that Ami will be okay, because Kamekichi says so. He’s a fortune-telling turtle. Motoki counts the polygons on his pet’s shell and Mako laughs. He comments that she’s finally laughing, and she looks at him confused. Then Motoki mentions that he has to go to work and Mako apologizes for bothering him. He asks her to hold out her hand and, putting Kamekichi’s box done, he pulls items out of his pockets and hands them to her; which includes a magazine and random snacks, since the examinations are going to take awhile. After her arms are full he tells her to let him know the results and walks away after saying good-bye several times. Suddenly, he turns back and returns embarrassed, for Kamekichi. He waves a couple more times and leaves.

ACT 23


Usagi runs into the Karaoke Center, flashes her pass to Kamekichi, who seems to be in charge of the counter for the moment, and runs off.

ACT 24


Motoki pokes Kamekichi with a towel-wrapped finger, cleaning him for his date with Maririn. Does Kamekichi want to go to the barbershop? Usagi and Mamoru enter and Motoki comments on the unusual couple. Motoki mentions that it’s the perfect time to invite Usagi and her friends to Mamoru’s good-bye party. the news causes Usagi’s spirits to sink low. Makoto walks in and Motoki runs up to her welcoming her and asks how she likes he new haircut. He’s still wearing the green muffler.

ACT 25


Mamoru enters the Crown Karaoke Center after getting an urgent phone call from Motoki about Hina, but no one’s at the counter. Looking around he spots a life-size turtle walking around on it’s hind legs. Just kidding. ^_^ Motoki is wearing a spandex green jump suit, a large shell on his back, a stuffed turtle on his head, and the muffler that Makoto gave him. Mamoru looks at him like his friend’s lost it and asks why he’s all dressed up. Motoki squeaks a stuffed turtle toy and tells him the costume is for his farewell party and as Mamoru sighs, he changes the subject and asks if he and Hina are fighting because Hina told him (Motoki) that she had found a girl’s handkerchief in Mamoru’s house. Mamoru looks away and Motoki, not noticing his friend’s distress, goes on about since Hina’s father is Mamoru’s benefactor he (Mamoru) has a weak spot for them a can’t refuse them, even though he doesn’t really love her. While Motoki’s talking, Hina, who had been in one of the karaoke rooms for the party, leaves the room and, walking towards them, overhears Motoki’s last sentence. Her eyes catch Mamoru’s and he yells at Motoki to stop. Motoki turns around and his mouth falls open on seeing Hina. she runs out of the Karaoke Center, her yes full of anger and sadness. Mamoru runs after her. After they’ve left, Motoki finds his voice and screams at Kamekichi to punch him, hitting himself with the squeaky turtle toy.

ACT 26


Rei leaves the Karaoke Center while Mako and Usagi walk out more slowly. They stop at the counter where Motoki’s upper body lies sprawled across. He mutters his thanks to Rei for coming and continues to stare off into space. Usagi and Makoto both ask if he’s all right, and Motoki, on seeing Mako suddenly springs to life. He says he’s such a horrible person and hits his head against the computer monitor several times. Laying his head back down on the counter he explains that he said something awful to Hina and he’s worried she’ll think ill of him and leave for London the day after tomorrow in that state. Usagi’s not happy on hearing the news, especially since Mamoru’s going too. The next day Makoto enters the Karaoke Center to find Motoki’s turtle-loving, hiccuping-around-girls friend, Takai, who’s taking digital pictures of Kamekichi together with his girlfriend Maririn. He explains, between hiccups, that Motoki had to run to the airport to see Mamoru and Hina off. It turns out his departure date is today instead of tomorrow. Mako flashes her pass and runs down the hallway to the secret senshi karaoke room. Takai breaths a sigh of relief and pops a slice of hiccup-stopping lemon into his mouth. Meanwhile, in the tank, Kamekichi and Maririn enjoy blissful uninterrupted turtle love.
