ACT 4
In the secret senshi-only room at the Crown Karaoke Bar, Ami and Usagi, her head on the table, try to figure out why Rei doesn’t want to be part of their team. Usagi complains that she doesn’t understand it, and can’t believe she hates karaoke. Luna tells them they’ll have to convince her because the four senshi have to be together, but Ami says they can’t force her, to which Usagi quickly agrees. Luna says that they’ll think of a plan to convince Rei, but in the meantime, she wants the two girls to research something that might be the Silver Crystal. Usagi perks up at this.
At the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl paces back and forth. She can’t believe three of the Sailor Senshi have awakened and they mean to awaken the princess. She pauses for a moment then wonders that if the princess appears, they might be able to get their hands on the Silver Crystal. Jadeite steps up and says he will find the Crystal, but Beryl orders him to be silt and tells him that he can’t even collect energy properly. She says he’ll have to prove his worth if he wants to be loved by her. Beryl turns away and calls Nephrite forwards. He steps up next to Jadeite and bows, saying he’s at her service. He gives Jadeite a smug smile as Beryl contemplates her next move.
At the Hikawa Shrine, Rei is doing a fire reading when she senses an ominous shadow moving. She looks into the fire then gets up and leaves.
Downtown, a group of people are watching a large screen TV on the side of a building. A news broadcast is airing a report about a jewel known as the Maboroshi no Aozuisho, or Legendary Blue Crystal, that has never been displayed to the public, but the owner will be unveiling it at her birthday party the next day. Luna, Usagi, and Ami listen from the back of the crowd. Usagi tells Luna that it’s the Blue Crystal, not the Silver Crystal, and Luna admits that they just call it the Silver Crystal, and she’s curious about the combination of the jewel and the rich girl. Usagi’s excited that they’re going to the party, but Ami says they’d need invitations and she could ask her mother. Usagi interrupts her, wondering what she’s talking about, and pulls out her cellphone, saying it’s time to use them and smacks someone in the chest with it. She turns, bows, utters an apology, then realizes just who she’s hit. The guy from the convention center and outside the Cram School. He tells her to stop stalking him and Usagi yells that he’s the one always stalking her. He suggests she stop acting like a hyper idiot and walks away. She yells after him what he means by ‘idiot’. Ami asks if he’s a friend, to which Usagi vehemently denies, while Luna says there’s something weird about him. Usagi replies that’s because he is weird. As he walks away, the guy wonders if the Blue Crystal is the Silver Crystal. He walks past Nephrite, in human clothes, who also wonders about the Blue Crystal. He walks away and passes Rei, who swirls around to watch him go, wondering what the feeling she’s getting is. Usagi and Ami run over to Rei. Usagi cheerfully greets her and asks what she’s doing here. Rei replies that she’s not doing anything much, and Luna asks if she senses something from the Blue Crystal. She shrugs and says probably, but also has a feeling a Youma might be on the move. Usagi excitedly jumps up and down saying that they should research it together because they’re going to the party anyway. Rei coldly says not to act like she’s with them because she works alone. Usagi states that they’re senshi; teammates, but Rei brushes her off replying that being a senshi and being on a team are two different things. Usagi asks why she doesn’t want to be part of the team to which Rei answers that she’s always alone because it’s easier. She walks away and the others continue walking down the street, Usagi hanging her head, thinking it’s useless. Luna says for the time being they should go research the party the next day. Usagi interrupts wondering what they’re going to do about clothes. She dreamily walks ahead saying that you have to ear a dress to this kind of party. Ami shakes her head as Luna moans to Usagi that it’s not a game. Usagi replies that she knows that, but it’s not often that they get to go to a party. She stops in front of a shop window which displays several fancy dresses and proclaims she wants to wear one of them. Ami and Luna watch her pull out her cellphone and change into several different dresses, a big smile on her face.
The party turns out to be a costume party. Ami is wearing a black dress with white lace decorating it, and cat ears and painted-on whiskers. She carries Luna, who remarks that who knew it would be a Halloween party. Ami looks around a spots a figure in a bear suit enter and says it must be Tsukino-san. Usagi walks towards them waving her arms and falls on her face. Ami helps her up, asking if she’s okay. Usagi rubs her bear head as Luna tells her to get a hold of herself. Ami leads Usagi away into the party. Moments later, Rei enters wearing her miko robes and a red eye mask. “Happy Birthday, Yuka” is projected on the wall as the birthday girl comes out. She’s wearing a pink dress and holding a feathered mask. She thanks everyone for coming to her party and tells them to have a great time. The DJ tells the crowd that he’s taking requests for songs. Usagi jumps up and down in excitement, exclaiming that it’s so cool because she’s never been to a party like this before. She thinks she sees a famous guy and runs off. Luna suggests that she and Ami look around. The latter asks about Tsukino-san, to which Luna says that until her excitement wears off, she’s of no use to them.
Meanwhile, Yuka is talking to a policeman, telling the unveiling is in an hour, and to guard the jewel until then. Nephrite, in his usual wear, watches them from behind a plant. He places a green crystal inside of it and a cactus-like youma appears out of it and Nephrite tells it to go. The youma follows after Yuka and the police officer.
Usagi is looking around for Ami and Luna when someone bumps into her, causing her to fall against someone else. “Tuxedo Kamen?” thinks Usagi, disbelieving it’s really him. He’s so cute! Little hearts reflect in her eyes. She’s speechless while he tells her to hold up a minute. She thinks about how good he smells and closing her eyes, lays her head against his chest. He looks down at her wondering what’s with the bear.
In another park of the building, Ami has changed into her regular clothes and is looking around a corner. She starts to walk down the hall when a hand on her shoulder stops her. She turns to see Rei, without her mask, who nods at her and tells her to be careful because she senses a youma. Ami asks if they can work together, not as a team, but as senshi. Rei just stares at her, and Ami continues that she thinks it would go much easier with two people searching. Rei agrees and Ami asks if she’s afraid to become part of a team, then quickly apologizes saying that she might know how she feels. Rei looks down, saddened, and says that friends and family will break apart someday. They always have.
Meanwhile, Usagi is trying to get up the courage to say something to Tuxedo Kamen, but he beats her to it and asks if she can get off him, and then walks away. Usagi’s happy that she finally got to see him, though she couldn’t talk to him, and didn’t know what to say. She walks away dejectedly and runs into the DJ’s booth. Suddenly she gets an idea.
Ami and Rei walk down the hallway and the former smiles up at the latter. all of a sudden, they hear a man’s yell. They run down the hall and find the cop lying on the floor, unconscious. Yuka holds the box with the jewel in it. Rei asks what she’s doing and Yuka looks at them, an eerie green light in her face. Rei exclaims that she’s possessed by something. Ami says it’s probably a youma and pushes Yuka and grabs the box. The girl falls to the ground and the youma appears. “Mercury Power...” “Mars Power...” “Make-Up!” Sailor Mars pushes the youma to the floor and tells Mercury to take the jewel and run, that she’ll buy her some time. Sailor Mercury runs down the hall while Mars performs “Youma Taisan!”, but the youma splits in two. As Mars chases one youma, the other sends out a vine and wraps her up. Luna peeks into the room.
Back at the party, Usagi hands the DJ her song request for Aino Minako’s “C’est la Vie”. Her cellphone rings and she puts it against her bear head. Realizing her mistake, she pulls the head off and hears Luna tell her a youma is nearby.
Sailor Mars is still tied up in the vine when Usagi runs in to help. But she can’t get out of her bear costume because the zipper’s stuck. The youma shoots out some more vines and ties up Usagi. Mars breaks free of the vines and frees Usagi. She pushes her out of the room and helps her out of the suit. Mars says she thought Usagi was trying to save her and Usagi admits that that’s what she wanted to do. She happily gets out of the bear suit and tells Mars that she’s happy she saved her, and that teammates are great. Mars gives her a small smile and Usagi grins at her, causing her smile to widen. Then Mars remembers Mizuno-san and they run off to find her.
Up on the roof, Sailor Mercury has been cornered by the two youma when Usagi yells at them to hold it. Mercury happily runs over to them. “Moon Prism Power, Make-Up!” “Mizu ku chishiki no senshi, Sailor Mercury!” “Honoo no jonetsu no senshi, Sailor Mars!” “Ai to seigi no seera fuku bishoujo senshi, Sailor Moon! Tsuki ni kawatte...” “Oshioki yo!” The youma creates a third one. Moon wails that it has to be against the rules to do that. Mars attacks the middle youma with “Akuryo Taisan!”, but the other two heal him, and they attack the senshi. “Mercury Aqua Beam!” The youma heal each other again, causing Moon to ask what’s going on. Mercury suggests that they might have to hit all three at the same time and Moon agrees. She calls for her Moon Stick. “Mercury Aqua Beam!” “Moon Twilight Flash!” “Akuryo Taisan!” But, the youma get back up, healed. Mercury says they have to get their timing perfect and they try again, but the youma get back up once again. They start to fight them physically, but they end up running from the youma and hiding. Mercury asks what they should do, when she hears Sailor Moon singing under her breath. Mars sharply asks why she’s doing that at a time like this. Moon asks if they hear Minako’s song and Mars asks why it would matter. Mercury pipes up that they can time themselves with the rhythm. Mars just stares at them and Moon asks her to bear with it, even though she hates singing. Mars nods and the girls run out to face the youma.
Downstairs, the DJ introduces “C’est la Vie” from Aino Minako’s second album, requested by ‘Moon Girl’ to her ‘Masked Man’.
Out on the roof, the senshi are singing the song while they circle around the three youma. At the chorus they perform their attacks together. “Mercury Aqua Beam!” “Moon Twilight Flash!” “Akuryo Taisan!” The youma disappear, destroyed. Mars cried out happily that they did it, then stops when she realizes what she’s doing. Moon and Mercury run over to her and they all smile at each other.
Then, Nephrite walks out holding the box containing the Blue Crystal. He says that he’ll prove his metal to Queen Beryl once he gives her the crystal. Sailor Moon yells at him to give it back, but he just glares at her. They move forward when Tuxedo Kamen jumps out in front of them from out of nowhere. Moon exclaims his name out loud and Nephrite asks who he is. Tux doesn’t answer and instead suggests threateningly that he (Nephrite) return the crystal. Nephrite taunts him, saying why doesn’t he come and try to take it. Tuxedo Kamen pulls out his cane and the two men fight. Tux manages to knock the box out of his hands and it flies through the air towards the edge of the room. Moon runs to catch it, while Mercury and Mars shout warnings that she won’t make it. But Moon manages to grab it before it goes over, only it leaves her standing on the edge. She starts to fall and Mars and Mercury run forwards, but Tux reaches her first and grabs her hand. He tells her to hold on tight as he struggles to pull her up, but she tells him to let go. He won’t and they both fall, their hands still entwined. Mars and Mercury rush to the edge to watch, helplessly.
As they fall, the Moon Stick glows and encloses the two safely in a protective bubble. The other two senshi watch, shocked.
Nephrite clicks his tongue and walks away.
As the bubble floats gently to the ground, Mercury sinks to the ground in relief and Mars leans against the wall.
Inside the bubble, Moon looks around with a huge smile on her face as Tux looks around in wonder. she exclaims that it feels so good and proceeds to sing “C’est la Vie”. Tuxedo Kamen watches her, surprised, then smiles at her. They reach the ground and the bubble disappears. Tux thanks Moon for saving him and she says that it was hr fault to begin with and bows to him, looking embarrassed. She thanks him for saving her all the time and he smiles, complimenting her on her singing voice. Sailor Moon looks even more embarrassed as Mars and Mercury run over calling Tsukino-san. Moon runs over to them calling their names. Mercury says they were worried and Moon holds up her Moon Stick excitedly exclaiming that it sparkled and she and Tux floated in the sky. Tux opens the box and sees a necklace with a light blue crystal on it. She says it’s not the crystal he wants as Luna comes over to ask if he’s also looking for the Silver Crystal and who he really is. He answers that if they’re looking for the same thing they might be enemies. Luna asks if he is an enemy, but he just smiles and walks off.
The three girls walk down the street, back in their regular clothes. Usagi loudly sings “C’est la Vie” and Ami chimes in. Slightly behind them, Rei conducts with a branch in time with their singing. Usagi and Ami turn around to face her. Usagi happily suggests to Rei that they have a karaoke party soon. Rei says she must be kidding and reminds them that she hates karaoke. Usagi sadly looks down like she’s going to cry and Rei, watching her, says they can have a party as long as there’s no karaoke. Usagi looks up with a big smile on her face and says they’re going to have a party. They continue to walk and Usagi, smiling, remembers her meeting with Tuxedo Kamen that day. Luna’s remembering what he said about maybe being an enemy and makes a frowning noise. The picture fades as the girls walk side-by-side into the sunset.
