FACTS

- Unna (OO-na) means "to love and adore."
- Born tail first.
- 100% Icelandic orca.

HISTORY

Unna was born on December 27, 1996, at SeaWorld Orlando in Florida to mother Katina and father Tilikum after a three hour labor. Her birth came only months after both Gudrun* and Nyar* passed away. Unna became close to her brother Taku*.

On August 25, 2002, Katina gave birth to Ikaika. Unna was present during the birth. A little over three months later on December 7, 2002, Unna was moved to SeaWorld San Antonio.

Unna joined several family members at SeaWorld San Antonio including her half-brother Kyuquot and her nephew Keto. Unna also became close with the dominant female, Kayla. In April 2004, her nephew Keet was transferred from SeaWorld San Diego and her half-brothers Tuar and Tekoa were transferred from SeaWorld Orlando. The moves were in preparation for another move to Loro Parque in Spain. Unna was a choice for the move, but it was discovered that she was pregnant.

On February 13, 2006, Keto and Tekoa were moved to Loro Parque. In late April 2006, Unna suffered a stillborn.
