HISTORY

Keto was born on June 17, 1995, to Kalina and Kotar*. Kalina had been moved away from her first son, Keet, in October 1994 to SeaWorld Orlando. Keto became the first Grandbaby Shamu born to the Florida park.

On March 8, 1999, Keto was moved to SeaWorld San Diego in order to make room for Kalina's third calf, Tuar. Keet joined him eight months later. Within a matter of months, Keet, Keto, and another orca, Sumar, were moved from California to SeaWorld Aurora in April 2000. About a year later, the Ohio park was sold to Six Flags, and the orcas were moved to different parks. Keet and Sumar went to California and Keto went to Texas.

Keto is one of the few orcas who have been to all the SeaWorld parks. For now he enjoys life with Kayla, Kyuquot, and Unna in Texas.

On February 13, 2006, Keto, Tekoa, Kohana, and Skyla were transferred to Loro Parque in Tenerife, Spain.
