*Orca's Summary
Taku was born on September 9th, 1993 to mother Katina and father Tilikum. He was the first whale to be fathered by Tilikum and born in a Sea World park. His "auntie" was the late Gudrun*. When Taku's sister, Unna, was born in 1996, the two became deeply attached to one another. They had a very strong bond and did a lot of shows with one another. Taku has lived at SWF all of his life. He was there when Katina went into labor with his little brother, Ikaika, but Taku became uneasy and trainers moved him into another pool. Once Unna left, Taku became very attached to Ikaika and the two males are now developing a very close bond. The young male seems to do this with all of his siblings. As a performer, Taku is used a lot. He does a lot of shows with his mother or siblings. His dorsal fin is growing much taller and starting to bend to the left side. It also has three nicks along its trailing side. His flukes curling under, and his pectorals are getting much bigger. His eyepatches are oval shaped and curve back to a point. The right one has three points near the eye, just like his mom's. He has blue eyes. Already Taku is starting to dwarf his trainers. He may end up being even bigger than his old man. Since he is starting to become reproductively aged, a female has recently been moved to Florida as a potential mate for him. That female is Takara, of Sea World California origin. Taku has already begun to make little advances on her.
