HALLOWEEN

Black cats didn't scare Iolaus.  Cats in general were pretty nice, especially when they rubbed against your leg on a cold night.  Their thick warm fur sure helped warm up your cold hands.

Ghosts didn't scare Iolaus.  He had been dead -- gone to the other side.  Ghosts were just like us only they were dead.

Witches didn't scare Iolaus, much.  Sure some were ugly.  But the pretty ones, the ones that cast those love spells; well, they could be a lot of fun.

Vampires scared him a little bit.  He knew they could be dispatched with a stake to the heart and he had heard that there was this blonde girl doing her part to rid the world of them once and for all.

There was only one thing that really scared Iolaus, and he knew again this year that he and Hercules would have to face it.  As much as he tried to avoid it he knew it was part of the fall ritual.  Something that had to be done, as much as it terrified him.  Today was the day, they couldn't wait much longer he knew in a few hours Hercules would appear and they would have to face the dreaded. . . .

A cold chill went down his spine as he thought of the knife cutting through the flesh, and then. . .

There was only one thing that really scared Iolaus. . .  sticking his hand down inside the pumpkin to pull out the seeds and the pulp.

Two, if you counted what the pumpkin looked like once Hercules got done carving it.
