Hey, check out these tonsils Tastey

After opening their eyes the puppies tried to make sense of their surroundings. Where they once crawled toward the sounds made by the other puppies feeding, they now saw their siblings as the familiar warm breathing pillows with which they cuddled. Attempting to stand and walk usually resulted in sitting and falling over backwards. The puppies soon became punching bags and chew toys as paw pushing and ear biting became their major pass time. Their play period lasted about half an hour with rigorous interaction, after which they would drop into a deep sleep until their next feeding.

Ready to attack Big round head Sitting Standing

By the fourth week they were able to stand but walking was more akin to wobbling with their legs usually sliding out from under them. It became easy to identify potty time when a puppy would stop trying to walk, their hind legs would slide out behind them, and a puddle would spread out from beneath. As soon as the puppies wake up after a nap I have to stand by with toilet tissue and fresh papers for the playpen.

The puppies became fairly competent at walking by the end of the fourth week. Now they lunge forward, charging and ramming into one another. They enjoy pushing each other around and biting at each others head and ears. It's a good thing they don't have any teeth yet! Their playful challenges will soon help determine which is to become leader of the pack. For now, they still just seem to be having fun learning how to play together. Their whimpering and growling has become more recognizable as that of a dog and, occasionally, you'll even get to hear a loud yelp out of them.

Usually Matza would keep a close eye on me when I handled her offspring. Now she is more trusting and doesn't mind so much when I pick up one of her puppies. She even allows Max to visit with the puppies now, especially when he helps cleaning their tiny faces. Bisket still doesn't want to risk Matza's wrath so he just prefers to play it safe and keep away.

By the end of the first month I think I was beginning to recognize the differences between each puppy.
