Meet the Father, Bisket

Bisket was born February 25, 1998, in Costa Mesa, California. His father was a two pound purebred Yorkshire and his mother was half Yorkshire Terrier and half toy poodle. Do the math and Bisket is three quarters Yorkshire and one fourth poodle; therefore, a Yorkie-Poo.

At first glance Bisket appears to be a Yorkshire Terrier but there are telltale signs that give him away. The existence of his tail is the first giveaway that Bisket is not a purebred Yorkshire, unless he's mistaken as being European where surgical docking is not practiced. His long thin legs provide him the acrobatic balancing skills more typical of a poodle. The color and texture of his coat is different. Bisket has wavy hair that gets curlier as it gets longer. A purebred Yorkshire terrier has a long straight coat that is tan on the extremities and steel-blue (black to the untrained eye) on the backside. The very light gray color of his poodle grandparent has given Bisket a silvery shine that is often confused as that of a Silky Terrier. The deep golden tan coloring on his legs and head transitions to silver at it's lightest shading. The dark coat of Bisket's backside is interspursed with very light grey that resembles a silvery shimmer.

Bisket is a light eater and maintains a consistent weight of seven pounds. He can be easily scooped up in your hand and carried around. It's amazingly theraputic when Bisket climbs your shoulders and massages your neck as he wraps himself around it.

He quickly learned that he's too light to sleep on the bed after being bounced off the mattress whenever somebody rolls over. Bisket perfers sleeping under the bed or any where there's a protective overhang. Sometimes he buries himself under the covers to be safe and warm.

The Howling

The Howling
Bisket demonstrates techniques that a tiny dog can use to make himself seem louder and larger. With amazing speed and agility he jumps back and forth, up and down, from side to side, and front to back to create the illusion of a much larger animal. Bisket becomes a growling, barking, hairy blur almost three to four times his actual size.

Bisket has an unusual way of barking. First you think he's sneezing. Ah-chew..bless you. After sneezing a few times, if that doesn't catch your attention, the sneeze gets louder and louder each time. Slowly building in volume, the sneeze transitions into a bark along with a hop, as if jumping will throw the volume of the bark farther and louder. Finally, an extended howl is followed by a quick squirt on a nearby shrub, then the scratching and clawing and throwing of the dirt.

A Man of Leisure
Wake me when it's time for dinner
Any chair allows Bisket to relax and still keep a watchful eye on the rest of the room.
Let's do lunch Most any pillow will do, thank you
A warm spot left on the couch where someone was just sitting is another favorite place to relax.
Here Bisket is seen checking out his appointment calendar for an up coming opening.
Bisket is hard at work doing his high pressure desk job.
