Betty Duffy was born in Youghal and now lives in Midleton. From an early age, she has been an avid reader, and has wanted to write for as long as she could remember. She has had work published in various collections and magazines, as well as in the e-zine, Moonlight, which is, sadly, no longer online.

Ann Lynch is a native of Abbeyside, Dungarvan. She writes childrens stories, short stories and features, and has a novella "Hannah" in the pipeline. Her stories have been published in various collections.

Helen Kahn nee Kelleher was born at Cahir, Co Tipperary, but has also lived in Mallow, Thurles and Youghal. She started writing at ten and wrote at intervals ever since, mainly poetry and bits of novels. Like many others she left Ireland during the '50s to work in different parts of England and Wales. In 1994 she retired and came to East Cork to live. She has not published anything yet, but her work has appeared in Specimen.

 

Johanna Canty was born in Coventry, in England, in 1972. She moved to Ireland with her family a year later and now lives in Midleton. She has always had a passion for writing and in recent years has had stories publuished in Imagine and Impression Framed, two anthologies published by Bradshaw Books.

Joan Fitzgerald is a native of Midleton, now living near Loughaderra. She enjoys people, reading, walking and, in recent years, writing. She has had some work published, including poetry in the anthology, Impression Framed. Examples of her work may also be found in the e-zine, Specimen.

Tim Houlihan was born in Midleton and has no desire to travel outside it. He has been writing since he was about sixteen and has had short stories and verse published in various low-paying magazines (with the honourable exception of New Irish Writing). He is, at the moment, running three writing-biased web sites (including this one). Examples of his work may be found at The Word Factory, and Specimen

Frances Macaulay Forde was born in England, raised in Africa, got married, had children and was divorced in Australia. In 2001, at the age of 50, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Writing from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. She now alternates between Australia and Ireland, where she presently lives with 'The Love of Her Life'. Frances has been publishhed in many periodicals and web sites, including Specimen. Her first collection of poetry has just been published and is available from bookshops, or directly from her site at

Michael O’Connor is a farmer’s son from Charleville, Co. Cork, who is now living in Midleton. He graduated, with an Honours Diploma in Journalism, from the Irish Academy in Dublin (2002) and studied in UCC. His previous occupations include antique dealer, farmer and banker. He began writing in spring 1999, and has read on Sunday Miscellany, R.T.E. Radio 1, April 2000. He has also given readings at the Outing New Writers, Cork’s Summerfest’, June 2000.

  He has provided 5 scripts for ''A Living Word'' series, R.T.E. Radio 1, October 2000 and had a short story in the Holly Bough, as well as a poem in, An Gob Saor, A Cork Millennium Anthology, both in December 2000.

He has also contributed to A Gift Of Roses, by Don Mullan, December 2001 and wrote articles for Inside Cork' under the name Michael Julian, March - July 2001.

Articles also appeared in "The County" (Irish Examiner) and The Imokilly People during 2002.
