On this site, you'll find information regarding my 1970 and 1999 Chevy Monte Carlos. This site is pretty much based on the restoration process of the '70 Monte but I included the '99 because its also a Monte.

To start things off, let me tell you how I got the '70. I was on e-Bay on night just looking around when I came upon this auction. I decided to put a bid on it for two reasons. One, it was at a good price and two, it was close. I had the highest bid but was outbid two days later. It only increased another $500 so I figured "what the hell" and placed another bid on it. That bid was not the highest and I figured that I was not going any higher. A week later I checked my e-mail and received a notice that I had won the auction. Naturally I was surprised considering that I had lost the auction a week ago. I was even looking around for another car at the time. I called the owner the next day and explained that I had lost the auction. He told me that the highest bid was in California and didn't have the money so he canceled that bid. I ended up being the next highest bidder. Luckily the owner was understanding when I told him I would need a week to transfer the money and find a storage place. I was planning to do that a couple days before the end of the auction so that I could have everything ready when the auction finally ended. Since I thought I lost, I didn't bother doing that stuff. When I went to look at it, I was really surprised at the condition of it. The car it self was in good shape for being 30 years old. Believe it or not, this car only has 40,000 miles on it! The second owner kept in storage for 20 years. I've always wanted to restore an old car since the age of 12. Now I have one that is not going to put me in debt. The owner was also very helpful in giving me suggestions on restoration and contacts.

I will be posting update pictures as the car goes through its changes. Check back often to see what progress I make with it.
