Medlicott Southdowns

The official homepage of Medlicott Southdowns. The Clifton Downs (founded 1956) and Tasvic Downs (founded 1978) Southdown Sheep Studs are situated at Hook in the Waimate District, South Canterbury, New Zealand. Chris Medlicott (owner) is well known in New Zealand stud breeding circles as being a breeder of very impressive Southdown rams, that show superior fast growth rates, high survival rates and are rated as easy lambing sires. Their show and sale performance shows their position at the top of the breed in New Zealand, and internationally with rams and semen having been exported to Australia, the USA and Uruguay in recent years. Included in this site are articles about their farming operation, sales, world records, show results, meat production, terminal sires and some pedigree information as well as a feedback form for enquiries.
