News from the LLR rabbit Holes!
Posted 05-08-08--> REBA HAD BABIES! She had 7 fat and happy babies last night about 1130. These should be some wonderful babies for convention! Really excited to see how they develope!
Posted 05-05-08--> I have a doe making a nest! lol Reba is going to have her babies today I think...we got back from Ohio last night and she had already pulled fur. Columbus,OH went well....other then our hotel room sucked off and on. I did alright with my elops placing well with the 6 I took and my hares did very well placing in the top of the classes. (there was about 8 hares in each class!) Luca took 2nd out of 8 which is impressive considering that I almost lost her 2 wks ago! I did a bunch of breedings this past weekend and hopefully everyone took. Congrats to courtney for her BOS in Show A in columbus with Booty! And thank you to Matt for the tissues you left in the van, but next time buy Puff's PLUS...don't be cheep on us dude lol.
Posted 04-29-08--> Ionia was a blast...as always :) Courtney took BOS in both shows with Booty and R/J Scott took BOB in both shows with their brk black buck! I took BOSV-solid in show A and B and Guito got his second leg in show B for 1st of 12 SSB's! My hares did well, against themselves lol, but Glock got a second look on the 4-Class table...which is really cool! Moolah and Reba are both preggers and due this coming monday...so far so good! :) See ya'll in Ohio!
Posted 04-22-08--> Great weather in Michigan! But we can't say that too loud cause it could snow up till June lol. I've been working on more breedings, I believe that Moolah took again with Dobby (hopefully she won't absorb again) Reba is preggers with Neville and Wilma...well...I'm thinking I felt something and she's bred to Mario. Luca had a very hard time with her first pregnancy. She went off feed and water for a while so I had to switch her to pedialyte and parsley and she was able to keep the babies. Unfortunately as an inexperience mother she didn't pull fur and there was only one baby (assuming she ate the other couple). The baby had been overcleaned and she nipped the tips of his ears off. He died the same day. :( Try try again right! I'm giving her a well deserved break to recoop after such a tramatic time and then she'll be bred back to Putz. Well, I think that's it for now...just hanging in here and getting lots of spring cleaning done! See you in Ohio!
Posted 04-07-08--> WOW! I didn't wear a coat to work today! :) It is going to be a blazing 68 degrees out today! YAYEE! Well, the Evart show went well this weekend. I took the solid int doe class and the solid int buck class...poor Moolah glared at me as if to say "Why the HECK am I here?!?!?" lol She went along to get bred and I put her on the table for fun. I did a bunch of breeding this weekend and hopefully they took. I have a couple more to throw together today and then....we wait! Grrr...need babies soon or I won't have anything new to show at Convention in Kentucky. Well that's all for now! Hope to see everyone soon! GOOD LUCK TO THOSE GOING TO MONTEREY,CA!
Posted 03-05-08--> Wow...I've been waiting 15yrs to say this. LLR has it's first BEST IN SHOW! And...it's with a Belgian Hare! Barabe's Luca (parsley) took BIS at the MSRBA Spring Convention here in Lansing,MI. There were 1258 open all-breed rabbits entered. A special thanks to George Raisor(yeah...I KNOW! A meat judge gave it to her!). She was given Best of Breed by Don Havlichek(sp?) and Best of Group 2 by Randy Wagner! I'm going to show her one more time on the 22nd at Mason,Mi then she'll be put to work making babies. I did well with my english lops also. Congrats to Courtney who took BOSV Solid and BOSV Broken then took BOS with her pretty elop doe "Eeyore's Miss Smooth Booty"! What a doe!
Posted 02-22-08--> Hello! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update the site! It took me this long to get them to fix whatever it was that was keeping me from being able to log on and update. (grrrr) I have lots of news! We went to PA and had a blast! Thanks Matt for roomin' with us and I'm sure you had as much fun as we did! :) The trip down was aweful and trecherous but the drive home, other then the fog, was alright. I had a litter of hares born on 12-28-08 to Benelli. They're looking good and at some point I'll put new pics up on the site! lol I had a litter of english lops born on 01-26-08 from Peachblow. They're looking good! I think that's about it. I've got some does bred and we'll see what becomes of that. See ya all on the tables!
Posted 12-12-07--> Hello! This month seems to be flying by! Only 2 weeks till christmas and I haven't even started getting ready! lol The rabbits are doing well, they're definately settled into the new house now. I have quite a few breedings happening right now and with luck most of them will actually take lol. Moolah is due to pop any day now! Poor old lady...she's going to be going into bunny retirement after this. I'm pretty sure that Reba and Freebie both took and I'm not too sure that anyone else did. I'm still trying to get these darn hares to take and get some hare babies coming! Still not able to get Old Lady to take, but there's no rush and we'll just keep swimming! (lol not litterally!) Well...hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Posted 11-12-07--> Had a minute and thought I'd let everyone know what's going on around here. The mission to steal Dobby from Courtney went rather smoothly...expecially cause she brought him to my house :) haha She bunny-napped Turner for another breeding as well. I've added another BH doe to my herd. She's an older doe out of Shelia Scagnelli's barn and I'm hoping she's still willing to breed for me. Looks like we're going to be having some warmer weather this week so I'll be breeding in the next day or two. We're almost moved into our new house...it's amazing how much junk can accumulate and hide! Well...I suppose I should get to work! See ya'll on the tables!
Posted 10-22-07--> Hey! Things are getting situated here at LLR! I'm going to be stealing Dobby from courtney and trying to breed him to Moolah. I've got a few litters planned and a few new belgians coming into the barn next month. Lots of nice Jr's coming up and young Sr's that are coming into themselves. I'm hoping to have internet working at home soon...until then I just jump online at work or at my folk's house so bare with me if it takes a couple days to get back to you! Well, I guess that's all for now!
Posted 10-22-07--> Hi-ya! Ok...wow it's been too long since I updated the news! :) Convention went GREAT! I ended up placing pretty well with my elops and my Hares did FUN-OMINAL!!!(haha) Look at the convention results page to see how we did!!! Courtney also did very well! We closed on our house the thursday before convention started and with courtney's help(my husband was out of state) and very little sleep we got all my junk moved from one place to another DURING convention! Crazy...it was crazy. I ended up winning a pair of V-lops in the Research & Development Raffle and so Courtney now has a new pair of Vlops LOL and I won a trio of Hares! cool huh! I loved visiting with everyone and had a blast hanging out with Calvin and Nikki! I have a lot of litters planned so watch the breedings page! Oh...by the way Courtney...there's a party in my tummy...YEAH!(hahahaha...)
Posted 08-13-07--> Hello! Things are booming here at LLR! I have two litters of elops that are now 2.5 wks old out of Reba and Peachblow. They're very attractive babies so it'll be nice to see how they look when they get older. SugarCookie is due any day now with babies from Ben. My Belgian babies are SO FREAKIN' cute! They're going to be fun to show at convention! We're hoping to move in the next month so I'm keeping my breedings down right now other then those that needed to be bred. I've got a lot of very nice jr's coming up and should do very well on the tables. Well...I think that's it and I should probably get back to work (lol) talk to you all soon!
Posted 07-26-07--> Well, we're waiting on some elop babies to come out...should be anytime now! Last weekend we had fun when Larry and Stacey Dailey (and of course Andie!) came to visit all the way from Florida! :) It was nice to get to hang out and chat. (spent our visiting time at a park) My belgian babies are getting HUGE! Pringles, the mom, is also fostering one of courtney's litters of Velveteens...seems to be going well. (I want to keep them! lol) I think we're planning a trip to ohio next month to the Fremont show...we'll see for sure in the next week or two. Still waiting to see if the folks accepted our offer on the house we want. I'll keep ya'll posted on what's going on around here!
Posted 07-17-07--> OK OK OK! I'll post some news! lol Things have been going great here. I've got a wonderful litter from Freebie and Donkey and my first litter of Belgians are due today! Moolah is preggers and will also be having them in the next couple days! Yayee! I've got a couple other does who are definately pregnant. I went to the Coldwater show this past weekend and took BOB with Melina and BOSB with Higante! I also took BOV AND BOSV in solids and brokens! It was a good weekend. :) I'm working on moving, we'll hopefully be moved in and situated well before convention time! Hope everyone's doing well and see you at Convention!!!!
Posted 02-05-07--> BABIES! Looks like I've got a new litter! :) MurMur had her babies last night from Clyde! It looks like she has 2 brk chins and 2 solid chins and something pink lol. These colors are not 100% and I'll post what they are for sure in a couple days. Only one month till nationals!!!
Posted 01-04-07--> Well, I got back into belgians! lol I've always loved the breed and I'm glad to have them again! I'm trying to get these does bred for nationals but with no luck! Grrrr...lol they'll probably all take now that it's after the deadline I had set for them to be old enough to be shown lol. Oh well. We've lost a couple younger stock recently...Mirror, my broken black doe passed away after fighting a lung problem (I believe she had damaged a lung and couldn't support herself on one) and Wonderboy a broken chin buck who I loved alot. His son Deigo is just like him and I hope he got his daddy's personality. Well, a new year is here and I'm hoping to see everyone on the tables!
