STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED
BY FOREIGN STUDENTS
TO STUDY IN INDONESIA
1. Foreign students to be
studying in Indonesia should firstly obtain surat penerimaan belajar di
Perguruan Tinggi di Indonesia (letter of acceptance to study in the
university) issued by the university chosen by the students before they go to
Indonesia.
2. After getting the above
letter, the student presents the letter upon applying Visa (Social Cultural
Visit Visa) to Indonesian Embassy/Consulate in the student's country.
3. Upon arriving in
Indonesia, consult with the university. The first thing should be noted is the
time (class schedule, complying with the requirements of the Ministry of
National Education of the Republic of Indonesia). The Ministry of National
Education should firstly accredit students certificate issued by foreign
countries. A form provided by the Ministry should be filled in.
4. It should be noted that
most of the communications during the class are in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian
language). Therefore, a course of Bahasa Indonesia is necessary for foreign
students. Find the details of the course in the enclosure attached herein.
5. Before the limit of
staying in Indonesia expires, the students should apply a conversion of their
Visas from Temporary Visit to Temporary Stay. The Process of getting the
temporary stay permit card and its extension can be done in the Immigration
office.
