| To kill a scarab once it's out of
you:
Swinging at the scarab with your weapon seems to work. They have a DS of about 25.
I've heard you can tread on them out in the open.
Misc Information: When rubbed (after being disarmed) they cast one charge of a random beneficial spell. Its also random to get one that actually has one of these spells in it. The scarab drops to the ground after you chop off the limb and continues to kill - beware. If uncursed, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
