Determining Experience Gains
Determining Experience Gains: After you have
fulfilled 30 ranks of Disarm and Picking Locks you will be able to see a
much greater increase in the amount of learning you gain from locksmithing.
Finding the amount of experience you get is quite easy. First take a look
at this sample table outlining a lockpicker with 0 wisdom bonus and 200 skill
bonus in picking:
Lock
Size Experience
500 150
490 145
480 140
470 135
460 130
450 125
440 120
430 115
420 110
410 105
400 100
390 90
380 80
370 70
360 60
350 50
340 40
330 30
320 25
For values in between, the experience value is higher (i.e. a 425 lock would
be 115 experience).
Now find your max lock with your lockpick. Max lock is your skill bonus plus
your wisdom bonus all times your lockpick modifier. Drop that down to the
closest +5, and place that number at the top of the table. Now follow the
pattern down by subtracting ten. As you see, if Lock Size is within 100 points
of your max, then your experience is equal to:
150 - [int((Max-Lock)/10)]*5
If the Lock Size is more than 100 points below your max, then Experience
is equal to:
100 - (((Max-100)-Lock)/10)*10
I think it's just easier to use the table though.
