Marietta and Sergey

[A Sparkling Cavern]

A beam of light coming through an ice-sheathed opening above the altar illuminates the room. Surrounding the altar are four hourglass shaped pillars formed from melting ice, their facetted shapes reflect tiny rays of light on the icy walls. Two majestic swans carved from ice stand back-to-back and hold a flat sheet of ice with their outstretched wings.

She is holding an icy blue vultite falchion in her right hand.
She is wearing a flowing ivory satin gown, some delicate crystal-heeled boots,
a soft white ora-mesh pack, a linen pouch, an antique silver armband, a delicate
mother-of-pearl bangle bracelet with a silver seashell clasp, a deep blue
cloak stitched with delicate green sapphires and clasped at the throat with
a glistening black pearl pendant, and a skin of blessed wine.

The Groom

Lord Sergey Avengirr
He appears to be in his 50's, has very long red hair, grey eyes, and pale skin.
He is wearing an ebon-inlaid golvern crown intricately etched with flames
of gold, a regal golvern-trimmed cape, a translucent ruffled silk shirt,
a pair of tailored suede pants, and a pair of polished black leather knee-high
boots bound tightly with crimson vaalin laces.

The Bride

Lady Marietta Raddicchi
She appears to be in her 50's, has shoulder length, 
wavy dark brown hair, violet eyes, and fair skin.
She is holding some fresh-cut red roses bound by a brushed silver band in
her right hand. She is wearing a delicate sterling silver diadem, a tiny
glass teardrop, a prismatic glass orb, an antique silver filigree locket,
a small braided gift basket, a translucent ruby rose, an elegant rose-hued
wrap, a small silver hoop navel ring, an engagement ring, a sleeveless chiffon
scarf dress, and some slender watered silk slippers.

The Attendants

Lady Aerienne Woodlake
She appears to be in her 70's, has shoulder length, curly golden blond hair,
a shimmer of gold on her eyelids, green eyes, gold cheeks, and fair skin.
She has a curly blond ponytail. She is wearing a brushed silver circlet,
a tiny diamond heart earring, a gold heart-shaped locket, a crystal amulet,
a golden charm bracelet, an exquisite gem-encrusted armlet, a fluffy
jewel-collared kitten charm, a shimmering gold silk cloak, a magnificent
set of white wings, a gold-dusted gossamer silk gown, a thin silver-link
waistchain, a jewel encrusted silk sack, a golden spidersilk pouch, some
pearl-trimmed stockings, an interwoven silver and gold anklet, and some delicate
gold slippers.

Lady Risma Haserbop
She appears to be in her 80's, has long, 
braided white hair, violet eyes, and lily white skin.
She is holding a pierced spherical ora censer in her right hand.
She is wearing a pair of rose embroidered slippers, a star ruby studded silver
anklet, a snow white finely woven cassock, a ruby-inlaid braided silver belt,
a ruby and vultite wedding band, a silver wire ruby-inset bracelet, a delicate
silver wristlet encrusted with tiny star ruby bells, some filigreed silver
and ruby prayerbeads, a ruby-dusted silver teardrop locket, an exotic blood
red rose, an intricate silver rose, a ruby dusted scarlet prayer mantle
embroidered with twisted arcane runes, a silver trimmed scarlet pack, a pair
of ruby heart earrings, a silver pentagram earring, and a coronet of white
puma fur interlaced with strands of rubies and delicate white tea-roses.

Myshel De'Moi
She appears to be in her 50's, has shoulder length, 
curly golden blond hair, hazel eyes, and fair skin.
She has a waist-length ponytail of lustrous braided golden hair adorned with
a swarm of silver butterfly hairpins.
She is holding a dainty pink flower basket in her left hand.
She is wearing a dainty pearl drop earring, a white silk wrap embroidered
with delicate white violets, a shimmering gold wedding ring, a charming
blush-pink dress, and a pair of dainty glass slippers.

Lady Celeina Sylvanti
She appears to be in her 50's, has long, straight golden blond hair, 
violet eyes, glossy rose red full lips, and fair skin.
She is holding a moss agate studded bronze bowl in her left hand.
She is wearing a tiny silver rose earring, a prismatic crystal circlet, a
fragrant white rose corsage, an antique silver wedding band, an emerald-set
slender silver thumbring, a moonlight silver coin purse, a strapless white
taffeta gown, and some silver dancing shoes.

Ardwen Ydwenson
He appears to be in his 70's, has short, straight light brown hair, violet eyes, and tanned skin.
He is holding a spiral silver candleholder in his left hand.
He is wearing a deep blue woolen tam sporting a gold griffon pin, an emerald
carved gryphon amulet, a shimmering gold wedding band, a gold and veniom-threaded
mantle, a deep blue leather breechcloth clasped with a small gold griffon,
and some soft blue leather boots buttoned up the calf with small gold coins.

Wadsworth Mobile
He appears to be in his 90's, has short, braided black hair, multihued eyes, and dark skin.
He is holding a carved wooden bowl in his left hand.
He is wearing a crystal amulet, a blackened leather tunic, a dagger belt,
a large plundering sack, an etched glass amulet, a prone veil iron jaguar
pin, a pair of shoes, a dark blue emerald eye, a blackened horn codpiece,
some grey double-stitched doeskin pants, a dark burlap armband, a fine-textured
white linen shirt, a worn grey leather weapon harness, a black loot bag,
a blackened doeskin satchel clasped with a ki-lin horn, and a weathered traveling
pack.

Celtar Ta'Lomion
He appears to be in his 30's, has very long white hair, 
multihued eyes, and tanned skin. He has a braided white ponytail.
He is wearing a glyph-etched gold alloy headband, a small gold hoop earring,
a gold etched torc, a plain black amulet, an engraved crimson mithril medallion
hanging from a blackened gold chain, some spiked crimson mithril gauntlets
clasped with small golden claidhmores, an onyx-inlaid gold alloy ring, a
rune-etched gold alloy armband, a thick black wool cloak, a scorched urglaes
banded cuirass inset with a reiver war rune, a mithril alloy mesh weapons
harness, a crimson leather belt buckled with a golden symbol of V'Tull, a
rugged black leather sporran adorned with crimson mithril studs, a crimson
and black tartan wool kilt with a small patch bearing a black scimitar on
a field of red, and some padded black leather boots.

The Ceremony

Sergey arrives and greets the guests, then steps up to the altar eagerly awaiting his bride to be.

Edaarin says, "Ah yes, welcome to the second ring of life, Sergey...First engagement ring, now wedding ring, then, suffer ring..."

Everyone chuckles then settles down to let the ceremony begin...

The Maiden of the Broom walks to the center of the room carrying a lovely beribboned golden straw broom with a rosewood handle. A bouquet of dried roses and herbs gaily tied with ribbons to the broomstick swings gently with each step.

Aerienne stands in the center of the clearing and holds the broom halfway up the handle. She slowly raises the broom in the air.

Aerienne recites:

"May the air in the room be swept clean and free

May only the happiest of spirits remain here with us!"

Aerienne closes her eyes and turns three times in a circle, letting the dried bouquet swing in a small graceful arc around her. A sweet clean scent of flowers wafts on a gentle breeze through the room.

Aerienne smiles confidently, then lowers the broom, the bouquet gently swinging around the handle. She taps the broom on the ground three times.

Aerienne recites:

"May the earth in this room be swept clean and free

May only the positive energies of the earth remain with us on this day."

She sweeps first to the north to south, the bouquet of dried herbs and flowers swinging merrily with each small stroke. She then sweeps from east to west.

Starting at the center of the X, she begins sweeping in a spiral around the center, small swift strokes of her broom covering every inch of the earth, creating a clean spiraling circle in the center of the room. Ending the circle before the altar, she curtsies first before the altar, and then to the audience. She then joins crowd.

Talsh smiles and reaches forward and removes icy blue vultite falchion from the alter with apparent ease. she grasps the hilt tightly with both hands and positions his arms towards the ground. Starting at the northern most point and circling desoil, the blade drags lightly along the surface of the ice.

As she walks along in deep concentration, the blade further digs and cuts into the ground tracing the parameter of the circle three times then places the falchion back on the ice altar.

Myshel trails just behind Talsh, outlining the circle with a light dusting of mauve rose petals. Blushing softly and smiling at the crowd.

Almost in what seems to be a hypnotic moment, four other people are beckoned forward from the crowd and quietly position themselves along the edge of the mystifying geometric creation.

Talsh removes a gold-bordered sacred prayerbook containing the glowing soulstone carved form of a young woman resting upon the cover from in her blue cloak and opens it.

Talsh says, "It fills my heart to see so many here to witness a joining such as we are to see before us today. The act of marriage is one that should never be taken lightly. It is one that tells the world of the love between a man and a woman. That only together can they become greater then they were in the past."

Talsh smiles and says,

"To see before them a future ripe with love and laughter. "

"To have a Hope and a willingness to share their dreams through the turns of learning and life itself."

"Let this ceremony be a testimony of the greatness of life and love. And how no matter the odds and the obstacles, 2 people can come together to share a life that no one may tear apart."

Talsh recites:

"I humbly ask the attendance of the Elementals of life!""

Myshel slowly walks towards Risma and tosses a handful of petals at towards the eastern point before quietly dissapearing back into the crowd.

A ray of light catches an icy column and fragments into a thousand tiny rainbows that scatter throughout the cavern.

Risma carefully places a bit of rose incense in her censer and lights it, glancing briefly at the tender curls of smoke. She gently swings the censer once toward each direction, a soft rose plume of smoke rising and dissipating at the four corners.

Risma says, "Welcome, O'powers of Air! With clever fingers weave tightly the bonds of Heart, Spirit and Love between these two! Let none undo the fabric of their love! "

Risma gently places the censer at the western point of the circle, leaving the soft rose smoke to gently raise up toward the heavens. She then curtsies, and retires.

A strong gust of wind blows through the area, caressing your face before drifting near the ora censor. The rose smoke swirls about wildly, forming a slow moving miniature funnel just above the disk.

Myshel slowly walks towards Ardwen and tosses a handful of petals at the southern point before quietly dissapearing back into the crowd.

Ardwen carefully places a thick red candle on a simple dish and lights it, gazing briefly within the flickering red flames.

Ardwen exclaims, "Welcome, O'powers of Fire! Ignite the Passion and the Love for this blessed pair. Ever burning, yet never consuming one or the other!"

Ardwen kneels slowly, his eyes fixated on the glowing candle as he places the dish at the southern point of the circle. He stands quickly, bows and then retires to his original position.

A quiet stillness passes through the area as the small flame begins to flicker, burning so low the only a blue blur is visable. Suddenly, the flame leaps from the candle, glowing brightly as all the other candles in the cavern begin to flicker.

Wadsworth removes a small woven bag of soil from the altar and quickly pours it into his wooden bowl.

Myshel slowly walks towards Celeina and tosses a handful of petals at the western point before quietly dissapearing back into the crowd.

Celeina slowly motions forward, kneeling to pour some water into a moss agate studded bronze bowl laid before her. She carefully pours a little bit of liquid from her glass of spring water into the studded bronze bowl.

Celeina says, "Welcome, O'powers of Water! Bless this couple with a love as deep as any ocean! May richness of body, of soul and of spirit be theirs ever more! "

Celeina gingerly takes hold of the bowl, placing it carefully at the eastern point of the circle so as not to spill a single drop. She once again stands, curtsies and then retires, moving to the back.

A brisk sea scent invades your nostrils, and a hazy mist fills the air, hovering just above the water filled bowl. The mist spirals and drifts above the bowl, causing the water within to churn and toss about lightly with due excitement.

Myshel slowly walks towards Wadsworth and tosses a handful of petals at the northern point before quietly dissapearing back into the crowd.

Wadsworth says, "Welcome, O'powers of Earth! Bless this man, this woman with thy strength and wisdom. To be theirs unto eternity"

Sergey gazes fondly at Marietta.

Marietta just kissed Sergey on the nose.

Wadsworth fumbles around in his black loot bag and produces a small magic seed, he then places it within the bowl and gently covers it with the soil. After dusting off his hands, Wadsworth sets the bowl on the northern most part of the circle, bows, and then steps back into the crowd.

The bowl begins to shake violently, causing a large gash to appear within the soil. Suddenly, a bright green shoot pokes through the mound, developing leaves and growing taller before your very eyes. A short white later, the midsized stalk blossoms into a beautiful mauve rose.

The faint breeze drifting through the cavern brushes past the hanging icicles, creating a lilting melody like wind upon chimes.

Ardwen recites:

"Gracious Goddess, Gentle God,

Grant this blessed pair

Thy love and protection.

Blessed be!"

Marietta idly picks at some fresh-cut red roses bound by a brushed silver band.

Talsh says, "Who comes forth at this time to petition the Lord and Lady's Attention?"

Celtar strides towards Sergey stopping to his side.

Celeina carefully takes Marietta's hand and slowly leads her into the circle.

Celeina says, "This Lady"

Risma prods Sergey before grasping his hand and slowly leading him into the circle.

Sergey lets out a yelp!

Risma says, "and this Man. "

Talsh says, "And their reason?"

Sergey and Marietta gaze briefly into eachothers eyes before strongly reciting, "For the beauty of love!" in unison.

Marietta flirts with Sergey.

Celtar waits behind Sergey patiently.

Talsh stands before the altar, glancing at the crowd as she takes Sergey's right hand and Marietta's left hand.

Talsh says, "We gather here this night in a ritual of love. You, Marietta Raddicchi and Thee, Sergey Avengirr stand here before your friends, the elements, the Lord and Lady to join together as the beginning of a family. For before there can be three, there must be two"

Talsh joins the couples hands and motions for them to face each other.

Sergey turns to face Marietta.

Marietta grins at Sergey.

Talsh says, "Sergey, what do you have to offer this woman for her love?"

Talsh smiles at Sergey.

Sergey kneels down.

Celtar offers Sergey a majestic vaalin eternity armlet of which Sergey accepts.

Celtar smiles warmly and steps back.

Sergey says, "I present to her my love and my pledge. May I never knowingly or willingly do such a thing to harm, nor greive, her in any form or fashion. Accept this my armlet, as a token of my love. Like the inscription, let our love be everlasting. Like its metal may our love be enduring. Accept it my love, for that which is mine is yours."

Sergey stands up.

Marietta squeals.

Sergey slides a majestic vaalin eternity armlet gently onto Marietta's arm.

Marietta recites:

"ATTACK AS SOON AS YOU HEAR A MESSENGER BELLOW "*** "COMBAT IN THE ARENA HAS BEEN OPENED. ATTACK AT WILL!"

Marietta's jaw drops.

Marisol blinks at Marietta.

Edaarin blinks.

Tasl blinks.

The guests laugh softly, trying to hide thier amusement.

Myshel giggles.

Augie gawks at Marisol.

Aerienne blinks.

Talsh's jaw drops.

Shoshonna coughs.

Marietta cackles!

Risma giggles.

Khenan begins chuckling at Marietta.

Ardwen starts chortling.

Marietta says, "I meant.."

Sabitor shifts his weight.

Marietta recites:

"BEWARE OF FALSE DEATH MESSAGES DURING COMBAT. THE MATCH IS ONLY OVER WHEN ONE OF THE COMBATANTS IS DRAGGED FROM THE ARENA. "

Celeina bursts out in loud, raucous laughter.

Marisol blinks.

Celtar coughs.

Talsh coughs.

Jypsie says, "Definately a nervous bride to be"

Rianon giggles.

Talsh coughs.

Artiminus says, "oh my"

Edaarin laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Shoshonna says, "She's nervous"

Marietta sniffs.

Shoshonna laughs!

Talsh says, "ok i'm not sure i can marry them"

Talsh flails her arms about.

Talsh exclaims, "she sounds like she gonna kill him!"

Sergey says, "shes tryin to kill me"

Rianon chuckles.

Marietta says, "anyhoo.."

Tasl clasps his hand over his mouth.

Marietta says, "My Love, I accept your pledge, and your love, as I accept thy armlet. Know what is in my heart, as I know what is in thine. The magic of my will, of my love, shall ever be thine."

Talsh glances at Marietta.

Talsh says, "ahh ha"

Talsh clears her throat

Talsh giggles.

Marietta shifts her eyes to Sergey.

Marietta snickers.

Sergey mutters tothemoon.

Talsh says, "Marietta, and what do offer in return for the love of this man?"

Celtar strides towards Marietta, a gentle smile upon his face, stopping by her side.

Khenan asks, "More screaming?"

Talsh says, "and i do so hope its not death messages"

Khenan ducks his head.

Talsh coughs.

Wadsworth snickers.

Shoshonna laughs!

Augie begins chuckling at Talsh.

Jypsie grins.

Myshel giggles.

Rianon grins.

Celtar offers Marietta a majestic vaalin eternity armlet to which she accepts.

Celtar bows and steps back.

Marietta says, "I present to him my love and this pledge. May I never knowingly or willingly do such a thing to harm, nor greive, him in any form or fashion. Accept this, armband, my treasure, as a token of my trust. Just as its bright gleam, may our love glow. Like the stone that it is its essence, may our love be as enduring. Accept it my love, for that which is mine is yours."

Marietta slides a majestic vaalin eternity armlet gently onto Sergey's arm.

Sergey smiles adoringly at Marietta and says, "My Love, I accept your pledge and your love, as I accept thy armband. Know what is in my heart, as I know what is in thine. The magic of my will, of my love, shall ever be thine."

Talsh removes a braided silk handfasting cord from on an ice altar.

Talsh smiles. She carefully binds the couples hands together with the handfasting cord in a traditional manner.

Talsh says, "With this binding I tie you, heart to heart, together as one. With this knot you are joined in sacred union. May the Lord and Lady smile upon thee, and bless you with health and prosperity!"

Talsh says, "May neither take advantage of the other. For remember what one may not provide, the other may!"

Talsh says, "Your Vows have now been heard by all. These armbands, like your vows, are without beginning or end. Now placed, they represent a seal of your love and respect for each other."

Talsh removes a rose-embossed sterling silver chalice from on an ice altar. and offers it to Sergey and Marietta, each take a small sip as she smiles knowingly.

Talsh says, "This is your first drink together as man and wife. May you never thirst."

They return the chalice to Talsh and she places the it back on the ice altar.

Sergey breaks out in a sweat.

Talsh removes some manna bread from on an ice altar.

Celtar grins at Sergey.

Talsh says, "This is your first food together as man and wife. May you never hunger."

Avantos raises a loaf of freshly baked white bread to the couple, both whom promptly bite from opposite ends.

Wadsworth grins.

Ardwen starts chortling.

Marisol blushes a glowing shade of red.

You notice Marisol slip into a hiding place.

Reine grins.

Shoshonna laughs!

Augie giggles.

Marietta fans herself.

Marietta asks, "am i seeing things?"

Celeina nods to Marietta.

Sergey says, "yes have a drink"

Talsh put some manna bread on an ice altar.

Femereff says, "It's nerves"

Talsh nods to Marietta.

Celtar examines his fingernails.

Reine grins slowly.

Aerienne grins.

Jypsie grins.

Talsh says, "its your happiness blinding you"

Talsh smiles at Marietta.

The mist filling the cavern, from the countless warm bodies inhabiting it slowly rise and with it the illusion of that silly-looking old cleric too.

Marietta laughs!

Talsh coughs.

Aerienne quickly walks towards Avantos and hands him a beribboned broomstick, she then smiles and curtsies before walking gracefully back to her position.

Talsh smiles.

Shoshonna says, "he left"

Femereff giggles.

Aerienne blushes a lovely shade of bright pink.

Talsh carefully sets the broomstick and sword within the center of the circle.

Celtar appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Jypsie asks, "Everything comes in threes, any takers?"

Shoshonna grins.

Celtar starts chuckling at Jypsie!

The guests laugh.

Talsh says, "This will be your first act of working together as Husband and Wife. May the sword cut all ties with the old and the broom sweep them away"

The mist seems to have fallen again momentarily.

Talsh guides Marietta and Sergey to the edge of the circle and motions back, nodding to the couple. Marietta lifts the hem of her dress and glances to Sergey who slowly counts to three.

Stepping forward the couple swiftly jumps over the sword and broom, landing smoothly on their feet.

Talsh removes the handfasting cord and holds it overhead for all to see and raises it skyward, then returns it to the ice altar.

Talsh hefts the falchion into the air before touching the blade to the ice floor. Starting at northern most point and circling widdershin, she slowly traces the perimeter of the circle three times before bowing slightly.

Talsh says, "We thank the elementals of life for their attendance this night and ask they go forth and herald this union."

Risma glances up towards the heavens as she raises the smoldering censer overhead and exclaims, "Hail o'powers of air! Thank thee for thy attention! Sally forth and announce to all this union!"

Ardwen steadies his candle on the dish and raises is overhead, his eyes closely watching the melting wax and says, "Hail o'powers of fire! Thank thee for thy attention! Sally forth and announce to all this union."

Celeina slowly lifts her bowl of water overhead, wary as not to spill a drop and exclaims, "Hail o'powers of water! Thank thee for thy attention! Sally forth and announce to all this union!"

Wadsworth raises the earth filled bowl overhead, his eyes focused on the delicate rose which closes its petals and dissapears back into the soil and says, "Hail o'powers of earth, thanks for your attention, go fourth and proclaim the union"

Talsh recites:

"I present to you Lord Sergey Avengirr and his wife, Lady Marietta -Avengirr."

Sergey enfolds Marietta in a warm embrace as they kiss for the first time as man and wife.

A flurry of snow sprites flit through the cavern, bubbling with childish laughter. Trailing behind one of the little imps a mask fashioned in the likeness of a familiar old cleric.

Edaarin throws a handful of confetti up into the air, and it floats down in a cloud all over the area!

Ardwen exclaims, "Congratulaions and death messages for all!"

Shoshonna says, "and remember it's not over TIL ONLY ONE LIVES"

Kyalia grins.

Risma giggles.

Rianon begins chuckling at Ardwen.

Shoshonna grins.

Jypsie chuckles.

Tasl laughs!

Marietta laughs!

Celtar says, "I think this one tops even the wedding where Blades and I both lost a lock of our priceless hair"

Celtar nods to Sergey.

Jypsie grins and says, "I'd be extremely nice to her, Sergey, If I were you"

Shoshonna giggles.

Marietta grins at Sergey.

Talsh beams!

Marietta squeals.

Everyone cheers and applauds the newlyweds.

Artiminus throws his head back and howls!

Shoshonna beams!

Rianon says, "Welcome to the family, Marietta"

Jypsie says, "Congratulations to you both."

After congratulating the newlyweds everyone follows Kyalia to the reception area for refreshments and dancing.
