Falisene and Artistansas

Towering trees surround a large patch of green grass dusted with colorful wild flowers. Over the treetops, snow-covered peaks are outlined against the clear sky. Four poles wrapped with silk ribbons surround an altar of carved wood from which delicate garlands of flowering vines hang down to the ground.

The altar is made from a great tree stump. On the flat surface can be seen the hundreds of rings that prove the age of this ancient tree. The base is carved with a delicate leaf pattern and is encrusted with sparkling emeralds.

He has an elaborate hourglass tattoo on his neck, and a tattooed symbol of Lorminstra on his forearm. He is wearing a crystal amulet, a tiny black castle pin, a perfect white daisy, a fat caterpillar finger puppet, a Lorminstra badge, a veniom-plated Ilyan Cloud charm, a butterfly charm, some pink socks, a pink topaz studded steel bracelet, an imflass threaded war harness, a skunkhide sack, a black leather climbing pack, some supple black hunting leathers, an ivory-edged grey laen shield, a hooded soot black cloak, and a gold ring.

Bard:
Lord Shadowdragon Tkackus
He appears to be in his 100's, has long, braided golden blond hair, violet eyes, and tanned skin. He has a black diamond tattoo on his arm, and a coiled black dragon tattoo on his arm. He is wearing a gold-accented white silk shirt, some fitted indigo leather breeches, an ora-buckled indigo leather baldric, a gold-inlaid modwir lute case, a swirling spidersilk cloak embroidered with an elven maid astride a golden dragon in flight, a fiery diamond pin in the shape of a finely detailed harp, some sleek black leather boots, and a silver and black diamond ring.

Knightsman:
Lord Pinston Vartern
He appears to be in his 130's, has long, braided silver hair, dark eyes, and tanned skin. He has a coiled black dragon tattoo on his neck. He is wearing some elegant spidersilk pants, a billowy white high-collared shirt, and some bone buckled leather boots.

Groom:
Lord Artistansas Ban'dar
He appears to be in his 160's, has long, braided sandy blond hair, violet eyes, and tanned skin. He has a tattooed symbol of Phoen on his arm. He is wearing a pearl inlaid platinum-etched crown, a delicate silver chain, a long-sleeved white dress shirt clasped at the wrists with brilliant emerald cufflinks, a thick rhimar-edged armband, a forest green spidersilk greatcloak, some green kidskin gloves, a rose and acantha leaf boutonniere, some worked black leather boots, an emerald green spidersilk kilt clasped with a large firestone-encrusted pin in the shape of a wendigo, and a crystal amulet.

Matron of Honour:
Lady Tenderhand Nyteshiner
She appears to be in her 190's, has long, braided red hair, multihued eyes, and fair skin. She has a tiny red heart tattoo on her finger. She is holding a black satin ring box in her left hand. She is wearing a pair of emerald brocade slippers, a deep emerald velvet gown edged at the neck and hem with embroidered cothinar flowers, a ruby wedding ring, a finely carved bracelet of ivory roses, a ruby-throated hummingbird amulet, a pair of jeweller's spectacles, some delicate rose-shaped ruby earrings with tiny emerald leaves, and an entwined vine shaped choker set with rose-shaped rubies.

Bride:
Lady Falisene Histepper
She appears to be in her 160's, has very long dark brown hair, blue eyes, and tanned skin. She has a white bunny tattoo on her thigh. She is holding a bouquet of white sweetheart tea roses and acantha leaves tied with an iridescent satin ribbon in her right hand. She is wearing an embroidered white cloak, a white lace-trimmed gown, a thin platinum bracelet, some white satin gloves, a pearl inlaid platinum-etched crown, some white satin slippers with a small brilliant firestone adorning each toe, a thick rhimar-edged armband, a small platinum locket, a delicate ice blue satin choker, and a white velvet backpack.

A pointy eared imp suddenly trots up to Tsalin from out of the throng of guests and taps him on the shoulder.
The imp says, "Hey Boss, the stuffs all set!"
Tsalin asks, "Erm... okay thats good. Wait a sec, aren't you supposed to be a figment of my imagination?"
The imp says, "Naw Boss, I'm a mass hallucination."
The imp winks mischievously at the crowd and scampers off leaving the old priest babbling as usual.

Everyone laughs.

Tsalin asks, "What DO they put into that wine?"
Tsalin says, "Well may as well get on with it before I start seeing giant rats with spiked collars."

Tsalin says, "Welcome ladies and gentlemen. Tonight we are gathered to celebrate the enslave....er I mean marriage of Falisene and Artistansas"

Lord Pinston arrives making his way up the aisle. He suddenly trips over his feet but gracefully rights himself in front of the alter, stepping gingerly to the side.

Pinston checks his footing and his knees begin to shake.

Artistansas walks purposefully up the aisle to take his place next to Pinston at the altar.

Artistansas smiles.
Pinston manages a sad-eyed grin.
The guests gaze in awe at the handsome groom.

Tenderhand walks slowly up the aisle, glancing at the crowd. She stops in front of the altar and steps lightly aside.

Falisene arrives walking gracefully up the aisle, the lace of her gown flowing out around her as she takes her place next to Artistansas at the altar.

The guests gaze in awe at the beautiful bride.

Tsalin says, "There is an old saying among the sylvans that love often times shines brighter than any star in the night sky and hotter than most fireballs."

Pinston scratches at a billowy white high-collared shirt.

A loud SQUAWK is heard as an object suddenly falls out of the sky and promptly hits Tsalin on the head then drops into his cupped hands. The object in Tsalin's hands looks like the remains of a bird, however, right about now looks more like lunch.

Tsalin says, "Ahem, well I suppose my aim needs work hehe.." Tsalin gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Pinston wipes the sweat from his brow.

Tsalin says, "However, this bird has provided me with a good point, many folks believe marriage to be the end of your life, but in truth it is just the beginning of a new one"

Tsalin gestures and chants. Suddenly, there is a blinding flash! When your eyes clear there is a beautiful dove, alive and unharmed in his hands.

Tsalin lifts his hands. The dove leaps into the sky and is shortly joined by another as they fly off together.

Tsalin says, "And now Shadowdragon would like to sing a song he has prepared for the couple"

Shadowdragon recites:
"I am honored to be here today Even more so, to be able to sing at this special event I thought long and hard about a song Not knowing any Giantkin love songs I decided on a different path"

"I feel this song is one that shows what love is I know we all have ideas, but love is intangible Folks of every race try to grab it Hold on to it, keep it with them forever My father wrote this piece for my mother He used to sing it to her often I think it is where I found my love for music"

Shadowdragon recites:
"The title of this song is 'I am yours, forever'"

With a slow lead-in, Shadowdragon begins a gentle ballad on his lute.

Shadowdragon sings:
"I awake, but do not open my eyes Your nearness comforts me Your warmth sooths me Your head nestled on my shoulder Your arm across my chest Here I awake with you, forever"

The tempo of Shadowdragon's song slows slightly, taking its time to convey a message of gentleness and rest.
Shadowdragon slowly modulates through a series of chords, building a beautiful melody.
Shadowdragon adds a whisper to the first, "I sigh", that seems to be playing a duet with, "I awake" adding in a soft harmony, the muted strains complimenting the melody beautifully.

Shadowdragon sings:
"I sigh, so happy with my life My eyes open, taking in your face So peaceful in sleep, so beautiful How am I so lucky? Here I sigh contently, forever"

Without a change in dynamics Shadowdragon picks up the pace of the song, weaving a soft but playful theme reminiscent of the sound of a far-away horse running across the countryside.
Shadowdragon continues his soft music, providing pleasant background for the goings-on around him.

Shadowdragon smiles as another whisper, "I smile", gently joins the first two whispers.

Shadowdragon sings:
"I smile, happy with our life Our room, our home, our dreams Curtains move in the gentle breeze Sunlight dances with shadows Nature welcomes us to another day Here I smile, happy, forever"

Shadowdragon deliberately strums an unhurried theme, letting each chord hang in the air for a time before striking another.
He whispers, "I wish", which joins the other whispers as they gently echo in the room, or is just in your mind?
With careful concentration, Shadowdragon draws out a series of notes, allowing them to layer into a sweet harmony.

Shadowdragon sings:
"I wish this moment would last forever Grasping with my mind's hands Pulling in sights, sounds and smells Your touch, never let go Here I wish this feeling lasts, forever"

The tempo of Shadowdragon's song slows slightly, taking its time to convey a message of gentleness and rest.
Shadowdragon adds, "I pray" to the chorus that swirls around the room.
Shadowdragon brushes his fingers over the strings, modulating softly from chord to chord as if playing to himself.

Shadowdragon sings:
"I pray, never leave me, never cry Let our children have your smile Let them find what we have found Please let us grow old together This I pray, forever."

With careful concentration, Shadowdragon draws out a series of notes, allowing them to layer into a sweet harmony.
Shadowdragon deliberately strums an unhurried theme, letting each chord hang in the air for a time before striking another.

Shadowdragon sings:
"I am who I am because of you I am forever dreaming of you I am forever remembering you I am forever loving your voice say 'I do' I am yours, Forever"

Shadowdragon smiles as his words, 'I am yours, forever' echos quietly through your ears and into your heart.

Shadowdragon slowly modulates through a series of chords, building a beautiful melody. With a final slow chord, Shadowdragon allows the notes to hang in the air for a time before their final demise into silence.

The guests stand and applaud Shadowdragon's heartwarming performance.

Shadowdragon recites:
"May Artistansas and Falisene find truth and meaning from this song And may they grow old with it echoing in their minds and hearts"

Shadowdragon bows then takes his seat.

Tsalin says, "Now the bride and groom would like to say a few words to each other"

Artistansas recites:
"As most of you know, I am a person of few words I know that I can never express to you how I truly feel But I will try to let everyone in on the love I feel for Falisene"

Falisene smiles at Artistansas.
Artistansas fidgets.
Artistansas glances at Falisene and smiles.

Artistansas recites:
"For many lonely years I wandered lost and confused Not having a true direction in life Hunting the evil creatures of the land with a vengence Fighting filling my days and nights Losing myself in the heat of battle sometimes"

Artistansas smiles and lets his breath out slowly, seeming to remember days past.

Artistansas recites:
"Then I saw Falisene at the statue on Teras Healing with a touch and smile of an angel I remembered we came from the same village But as children we had different goals, as is the case for most Our lives were pulled in different directions back then"

"Naturally, we both had changed over the years We talked of our village long and often Sometimes sitting at the statue until late at night The grumpy deputy keeping a close watch on us We started hunting together and spending more time with each other Laughing and dancing like we did as children years ago Then...."

Artistansas smiles and looks deep into Falisene's eyes, no longer nervous, no longer fidgeting.

Artistansas recites:
"Then..."

"Then I found something I didn't know I was looking for I was lost for so long, not even knowing I was lost Then I found her and never wanted to be lost again And for Falisene, I give you this promise and these vows"

Artistansas stands up straight and tall, proud to be standing next to his love.

Artistansas recites:
"I pledge to you Falisene My humble soul is yours forever I wish to share all that I am with you My thoughts and dreams will always be of you I wish to be beside you for all time"

"Remember my love, my heart is in your hands Your smile and laughter forever in my dreams Please accept all that I am For I would be nothing with out you I pledge this to you in front of all"

Falisene smiles as she turns to glance into the faces of friends and family, her eyes briefly locking on you, then moving on until her eyes meet Artistansas'.

Falisene recites:
"Well, I will try to put into words Just how I feel about being here today I know you will forgive my lack of drama Because this comes from my heart."

"I guess wishes and dreams do come true I remember a time after a horrible invasion on Teras Bruised, bleeding, and exhausted from the day's healing The last creature was slain, the town and people safe once more I was happy for the victory, but... "

Falisene glances up as if lost in her memories for a brief moment, then looks back at Artistansas.

"But as I looked up to the stars on that clear night I thought of friends and family and smiled, knowing I was truly blessed But something was missing in my life, my circle not complete Is there more to life than this I thought again I don't know if was because I was tired and hurt but I heard something. "

Falisene sighs.

"The stars seemed to whisper 'Yes, there is more. You will see' I know you might not believe me, sometimes I don't believe it myself. "

"Anyway, the next day started over as a normal one Then while working at the statue healing, this giant ranger asked me to hunt Not knowing it would change my life forever I said yes Well we hunted until the sun started to fade Then sat at the statue speaking until the same stars filled the sky. "

"We spoke of our village were we both grew up We spoke of friends, dreams, and many things Then I knew what the stars meant by those words There was more to life, and he was with me now I looked up to the stars and whispered Thank you."

"Now that you know of my special night Now everyone here listen to my vows to my beloved. "

"As the stars made a promise to me, I make mine to you As the moons dance in the sky, my love for you dances in my heart The tides may ebb and flow, but my loyality shall never fade As the mountians reach for sky, I will always reach for you As the Sun rises everyday, so will I, by your side always."

Falisene smiles at Artistansas.

Tsalin says,
"Marriage is both physical and spiritual. This is represented through the blessed rings that both will carry throughout their lives."

"These rings represent the unity that comes full circle and is never broken in their new relationship of marriage"

"We ask Lorminstra to bless these rings as she is not only the gatekeeper of death, but also the keeper of new life and rebirth""

A ray of light beams down from the clear sky bathing the bands in a soft glow.

Taslin glances up and chants a prayer then blesses the rings and hands each over to their new owners.

Tsalin says, "The firestone in these bands represents the passion of your love for each other""

Tsalin asks, "Artistansas do you take this woman to be your wife, to love and to hold dear to you, for the rest of yer life, through hardships and good times, through laughter and sorrow?"

Artistansas says, "with honor, I do"

Tsalin says, "The leaf-shaped emeralds in these bands in turn represent your ability to ability to grow into this new relationship that you are just beginning"

Suddenly, the pair of doves reappear and land on a branch nearby, cooing softly.

Tsalin asks, "Falisene do you take this man to be your husband, to love and to hold dear to you, for the rest of yer life, through hardships and good times, through laughter and sorrow?"

Falisene says, "of course I do"

Tsalin glances at the doves nervously. More doves arrive and land on branches directly above the gathered crowd.

Tsalin says, "If anyone objects to these two getting married let them speak now, and be hit with one of my socks"

Tsalin glances up, noticing that quite a large number of doves have taken up residency in the trees above the crowd. He also notices a wicked twinkle in their eyes.

Tsalin says, "I think we better hurry before those doves poo...."

The branches begin to shake as the myriad of doves begin to drop manure all over the assembled guests! The whole crowd is pelted with bird droppings!

The guests gasp and mutter to themselves.

Jyspie ducks and says, "Whoa!"
Sassee says, "ack"
Ryft gags.
Mirea winces.
Morfred's jaw drops.
Vlatimire mutters under his breath.

The wedding couple stand miraculously free of bird droppings as a huge plop suddenly drops on the nose of Tsalin! The doves fly off in a loud beating of wings and you notice it was all an illusion. Morfred's jaw drops.

Tsalin says, "Dang birds, I knew I shoulda made that one lunch!"

Tsalin exclaims, "Ladies and gentlemen may I present to you the newest married couple in the lands! Artistansas and Falisene!"

Artistansas and Falisene embrace in a loving kiss.

Everyone stands and applauds the Newly married couple as they throw handfuls of petals, confetti and rice up into the air, and it floats down in a cloud around Artistansas and Falisene!

After much congratulating, everyone moves to the reception area for food and merriment.
