Towering trees surround a large patch of green grass
dusted with colorful wild flowers. Over the treetops, snow-covered peaks
are outlined against the clear sky. Four poles wrapped with silk ribbons
surround an altar of carved wood from which delicate garlands of flowering
vines hang down to the ground.
The altar is made from a great tree stump. On the flat
surface can be seen the hundreds of rings that prove the age of this ancient
tree. The base is carved with a delicate leaf pattern and is encrusted with
sparkling emeralds.
The luxurious sea of deep green grass underfoot gently
bends as a crisp-breeze gently caresses your skin.

Autumn's fallen leaves rustle gently swirling briefly
up into the air around you.
Quiethorne recites:
"Greetings friends.
We are gathered here.
As friends and as family, we are here to witness,
The forever joining of Legend Avantos Uhrman and Legend
Bestatte Oleanna"
The scent of delicate wild flowers fills the crisp
evening air.
Quiethorne raises his arms and calls for silence.
Your hear a faint beating of drums pounding from just
beyond the treeline. The rhythm is enticing and somewhat urgent almost as
if it is summoning forth something from within you.
Bestatte indicates her carved modwir athame with a
smile.
Bestatte presses the athame's tip against her thumb,
piercing the skin. As the blood drips slowly to the ground, she walks in
an arc, creating a half-circular line of crimson on the ground.
Bestatte smiles slowly at Avantos as she faces him,
the deep red trail behind her.
Bestatte offers Avantos a bone-handled carved modwir
athame.
Avantos accepts Bestatte's carved modwir athame.
Avantos bows to Bestatte.
Bestatte recites:
"I consecrate this spot in the name of my
ancestors,
And create the circle from which our souls will be
joined."
Quiethorne takes a regal stance in silence, recognizing
the forms.
Avantos slices his palm open with the athame.
Avantos walks in an opposite half circle of Bestatte,
ending up facing her, dripping crimson blood the entire time.
Avantos recites:
""I consecrate this spot in the name of my ancestors,And
create the circle from which our souls will be joined.""
Bestatte smiles at Avantos from the other side of the
circle.
Bestatte turns and begins walking the line of the circle.
Slowly, crossing one foot in front of the other, she moves rhythmically to
the beat of the living forest surrounding you.
Bestatte raises her arms toward the moonlit sky, reaching
out as though to catch a star.
Avantos dances slowly in the opposite direction of
Bestatte. He crosses one foot in front of the other, matching her moves with
outstretched arms. The beat of the forest echos louder in the air.
Avantos smiles as the couple moves toward each other,
they pause and stare deeply into one anothers eyes.
Avantos gazes fondly at Bestatte.
Bestatte grins.
Bestatte recites:
"The Universe is One
I am One
You are One.
As the forest writhes with life,
So too do our Souls in a neverending Dance."
Avantos recites:
"The Universe is One
I am One
You are One
As the forest writhes with life
so do our souls in a neverending dance."
You feel the wind suddenly pick up as it begins to
blow through your hair. The leaves pick up and swirl around your feet yet
the forest seems strangely silent almost as if in anticipation of
something.
Bestatte continues her dance, moving inward toward
the center of the circle. She trembles with power as her steps quicken, her
head rolling back as a warm, sultry breeze whips her hair around her
back.
Avantos speeds up his steps as he dances closer to
the middle. Behind him, a chilling wind blows into the circle, mixing with
the heat of the breeze from the other side.
Avantos lifts his head, his eyes bright with power.
A dusty whirlwind rises from the center of the circle, as the couple faces
each other as pauses.
As Lady Bestatte and Lord Avantos stand together in
the middle of the whirling breeze, a length of spun spidersilk cloth drops
between them. Each leans forward and picks up an end, and the couple faces
each other.
Avantos gazes fondly at Bestatte.
Avantos recites:
"We dance alone, our bodies and minds
Yet throughout the Universe
our souls dance as one, united eternally."
Bestatte recites:
"We are life, we are death.
We are goodness and evil, light and dark,
Fulfillment and emptiness, with, without.
We are the embodiment of All That Is."
As Quiethorne utters a single word that is heard but
quickly forgotten a sudden brilliant flash of lightning strikes down into
the center of the circle between Lord Avantos and Lady Bestatte. Wisps of
smoke curl up from the charred earth.
Bestatte recites:
"There is no tomorrow.
There is no yesterday.
There is only Now."
Avantos recites:
"Now is eternal
It is the blossom of the soul
The fire of the heart."
Avantos recites:
"Bestatte, light of my heart, my soul dances with
yours.
In life,in death, together or apart, we meet in the
center of the Universe
And dance joyfully among the stars."
Bestatte recites:
"Avantos, light of my heart, my soul dances with
yours.
In life, in death, together or apart,
We meet in the center of the Universe
And dance joyfully among the stars."
Quiethorne removes a two small silver boxes from in
his preacher's satchel.
Stormyrain steps forward from the crowd, bowing gracefully
to Avantos and Bestatte. She then turns to the audience, her eyes aglow with
the promise of song.
Stormyrain sings:
"The soft touch of your eyes
Lights a fire in my soul
Bright as the sunrise
Burning stronger as it unfolds."
Stormyrain sings:
"Your heart speaks tae me in the night
Like a nightengale's sweet song
Bringin' passion an' utter delight
And a love eternally strong."
Stormyrain plucks her instrument's lower strings, adding
a driving bass foundation to the melody.
Stormyrain closes her eyes and becomes one with her
melody, her voice clear and sweet in the night.
Stormyrain sings:
"Join me in a dance of souls
Where the word melts away an' falls behind
Ne'er worrying o'what tha 'morrow holds
Becoming one for this moment in time."
Stormyrain accentuates her song with emphatic strums,
adding to the intensity.
Stormyrain opens her eyes and meets your gaze with
an intensity that seems to pierce your very soul, never waivering as her
voice encompasses you, drawing you into its beauty.
Bestatte smiles warmly at Stormyrain as she listens
intently to the song.
Stormyrain sings:
"No chains will Ah impose on you
No demands your forced tae uphold
Tae your own heart be true
An ne'er let your lust for life grow cold."
Quiethorne retains his regal stance...yes softened
by the song.
Stormyrain sings:
"For tis nae a keeper that Ah seek
Nor one Ah care tae be
Leave tha' expectations for tha' weak
Let it be your choice tae walk with me."
Stormyrain plucks her instrument's lower strings, adding
a driving bass foundation to the melody.
Stormyrain sings:
"Join me in a dance of souls
Where the world melts away and falls behind
Ne'er worrying o'what tha morrow holds
Becoming one for this moment in time."
Stormyrain becomes intent on her mandolin, placing
each finger purposefully along its frets to bring forth its sweet sound.
Stormyrain sings:
"We join in life an all we do
Whether here or far from home
Be certain o'my love for you
And know you'll ne'er walk alone."
Stormyrain bridges her song into a new key, taking
it to new heights of intensity.
Stormyrain sings:
"And like the circle of unity
Upon which we now stand
You, my dear, complete me
With tha' simple touch of your hand."
Stormyrain sings:
"Join me in a dance of souls
Where the world melts away and falls behind
Ne'er worrying of what tha' 'morrow holds
Becoming one for this moment in time."
Stormyrain drops her voice to a husky whisper as she
brings her melody to a close, leaving only the sweet hum of her mandolin
hanging in the night air.
>
Stormyrain finishes her melody, lowering her hands
from the strings of her mandolin.
Stormyrain steps gracefully back into the crowd.
Avantos, Bestatte and the other guests applaud.
Quiethorne recites:
"These armbands are worn as a symbol!
A Symbol representing the love that joins the
wearers.
As love transcends the flesh,
Avantos and Bestatte do not lay claim to each
other."
Quiethorne recites:
"Their union is rather a sharing of the mind, body,
and soul."
Quiethorne offers Bestatte and Avantos, each a small
silver box.
Bestatte accepts Quiethorne's silver box.
Avantos accepts Quiethorne's silver box.
Quiethorne recites:
"Neither Avantos nor Bestatte must sacrifice freedom,
for the soul knows no bondage.
They dance now, to demonstrate and symbolize the Dance
of the Souls,
Omnipresent throughout the Universe."
Avantos removes a black leather ceremonial armband
from in his silver box.
Bestatte removes a black leather ceremonial armband
from in her silver box.
Two tiny butterflies flutter in and circle once around
Lady Bestatte and Lord Avantos in an intricate pattern their gossamer wings
beating in a kaleidoscope of color.
The tiny butterflies flutter around Bestatte and Avantos
one last time before slowly floating away on a crisp current of air.
Avantos wraps his arm around Bestatte's as in a ceramonial
toast, and gazing deep into her eyes puts on his armband and winks at her
with a promise of later.
Bestatte affixes her armband to her arm as she gazes
lovingly into Avantos' eyes.
Avantos holds tightly to his end of the cloth and dances
slowly with Bestatte. They gaze deeply into each other's eyes, their bodies
shimmering with passion and love.
Bestatte clings to the other end of the cloth and matches
Avantos' steps. Their only physical contact is the cloth that separates them,
yet their bond is as unbreakable as the rapture on their faces.
Bestatte holds out her hand and invites Avantos to
the dance.
A single silvery beam of moonlight streams through
the tall trees surrounding the glade. The rays splay over Lady Bestatte and
Lord Avantos illuminating them in a pale light as they continue to dance
faster and faster and closer and closer yet never quite touching one
another.
Avantos just kissed Bestatte on the lips.
Quiethorne recites:
"We have heard the declaration of love between Avantos
and Bestatte.
We have witnessed the Dance of the Souls,
We have seen the power of love manifested in the
Circle."
Quiethorne recites:
"Let it be known throughout Elanthia...
That the Priest and Priestess are forever
joined!"
Bestatte just kissed Avantos on the mouth.
The guests stand and applaud the Newlyweds.
Rezzette says, "Magnificent dance Avantos,

Sorchia exclaims, "what a lovely ceremony!"
