Meili's Runescape Classic Website and Pictures - Runescape Relationships

This is Kingleonardo's web or map of Runescape relationships.

Relationships here does not necessarily mean just romantic relationships but also close friendships.

This picture does not show every player at the time. It just shows a select group of people, possibly famous and high level players or simply those who are active in the Tip It community at the time. I am not quite sure now what exactly was Kingleonardo's original reason for posting this however I believe it shows how closely players are related or linked to each other.

It's a visual representation of the RSC community at that time.

Looking at the web of Runescape relationships, it seems that most people were separated by three degrees or less.

Back then, Runescape was much smaller and if you regularly played, eventually you would become familiar with most of the other players. Even if you didn't know then personally, it was likely that you would know of them from your friends. We were like a big family who all knew each other. Actions taken, therefore, used to have a big effect.

The RS Classic community was very tight-knit.

For example, when Uriel666 attacked Tertsi in the wilderness, I encountered them and attacked Tertsi. Around 5 minutes later Sir Elliot came by and told me to leave Tertsi alone. ;-) You couldn't hit one person without making 5 other people scream.

Nowadays, of course, Runescape has so many players that such a close-knit community would be impossible. In RSC there were so few worlds that players were always bumping into each other again and again. Now that there are over 100 worlds this doesn't happen anymore.

If you look at the picture closely, you will see Meili on the center right. My name is linked to Punxstar, my Runescape foster father, Xxzibit, my original RS parent, plus my friends the real life siblings Uriel66 and I Wicked I and, lastly, my friend and mentor Who Da Best.

Xxzibit and Punxstar - why are they my RS fathers? Lol, well in RSC since players would spend so much time together, their interactions would mimic real life. Older or more experienced players would give advice and support towards newbies or young players. Sometime, this sort of Runescape relationship would seem similar to a parent-child bond.

Who Da Best was actually a much younger player than me but since he had played the game more, he had a lot of advice to give. I learned a lot from him.
