According to Seminole County Principal Engineer, Brett Blackadar, the traffic calming devices recently installed on Kewannee Trail, Derbyshire, Birchwood, and Spartan costs the County approximately $170,000. [This is the complete "shortcut" between State Road 436 on the east and U.S. 17-92 on the west.] This price includes signing, striping, and the stamped concrete that looks like brick pavers. Mr. Blackadar has graciously offered further information, if desired. Mr. Dante A. Gabriel, Professional Engineer with GMB Engineers & Planners, Inc. has graciously made available a report on the "Before and After" Evaluation of the Traffic Calming installation. The report is in the form of a 19-page Acrobat .PDF file and is slightly larger than 2 megabytes, which is a small problem for me, as many of the free ISP's that will provide memory space will NOT provide space for such a large file. Therefore, I have converted the .PDF file to HTML format so that it is readily available to all via browsers on the internet.
