Elena was born in Junon to a fairly well off family. She went to high school and the community college in Junon, as that was as much as she could afford.
Elena's parents were very old fashioned and didn't care for her to continue her education or to find a high paying job. Instead, they wanted her to settle down with a well paid young man who was possible a doctor or lawyer, or worked for the Shin-Ra corporation. They began to pick out loads of young men, trying to get Elena to date and fall for them. Elena was easily swayed. She had dreams of a career, she was too young to marry.
Her parents grew frustrated and arranged a marriage with a young lawyer from Junon. Elena found out about it and ran away from home, to Midgar, but not before stealing six thousand gil in cash from her fathers safe. Once in Midgar, she got a room and began applying for jobs at the Shin-Ra corporation.
It seemed that they didn't have any positions open, so as a last resort Elena joined the Sin-Ra military. Much to the surprise of her superiors, she was a hard worker. They also realized that she was very smart. She was a high ranking officer when she was offered a position with the Turks to cover for Reno, who had recently been injured by AVALANCHE.
Elena was thrilled.
Elena is hardworking and dedicated, but quiet she is not. She has a tendency to get too excited, and she doesn't keep her mouth closed when she should. This is one of her only faults, though, as she does her job well and with no problems
