Chapter 29

After a long travel across a dusty, brazen blue desert, the pack of jeeps pulled up to the small but wealthy town of Jonas. A dark blue colored, rocky dirt road led right into the city, and the Tzumarian soldiers parked the jeeps outside of the entrance, more troops driving behind them.

"Sebola!" Txourn said to his Captain as he, Vesta, Cloud, and Tifa hopped out of the first jeep. "Acha no caki!"

Sebola nodded and pulled out a two way radio, relaying messages to the other troops.

Txourn looked to the rest of the group, who as well had climbed out of the jeeps. "Time to go," he instructed them.

He and Vesta led the way, the others following. They entered the town, finding it to be rustic looking and well kept. Tzumarians walking in the road and flying overhead stopped to stare and whisper, seeing their prince with a rather large group of humans.

"So where exactly are we going?" Cloud asked.

Txourn thought for a moment, his keen torquoise eyes scanning the area. "Vesta will have to try to locate Jenova mentally."

Reno stumbled a bit. "Damn," he muttered, leaning on Rude's shoulder. "I think that stuff I drank was way stronger than alcohol."

"I agree with that," Randy said, bursting into laughter, and prompting Reno into it as well.

"God, will you two ever stop?!" Yuffie hissed, whirling around.

"Don't pay them any mind, Yuff," Striker said.

Rufus' nostrils flared. "Are we anywhere near Jenova? I'm tired of running around."

"Shaddup, Shin-Ra!" Barret yelled. "I'm tired of walkin' too, but you don't see me complaining none!"

Cid looked at the Tzumarians in the street and air skeptically, holding his spear readily and blowing cigarette smoke through his nose. "I've about had it with this goddamned place," he said.

"I agree with that," Reeve said, holding the steel pistol Tseng given him tightly in his pocket.

"Txourn!!"

Txourn stopped and looked to the side of the road, where a Tzumarian woman dressed in an expensive looking, exquisite, red crushed velvet dress with Victorian-like designs came out of the entrance of a shop. She had long, curly dark burgandy hair, that was have done up in a mess of ringlets, the rest hanging down. Her blue eyes reflected her skin.

"Oh, damn," Txourn said, putting a hand to his head. "Astrid."

Vesta growled.

"Txourn, what are you doing here?" Astrid asked. "And ugh, with humans. My father told me everything about them coming here."

"Yeah, and what's it to you?" Cid barked.

Isabelle touched his shoulder. "Calm down," she said.

"Astrid, now is not the time," Txourn said through clenched teeth. "I'm on official duty. The troops are even here," he gestured a thumb over his shoulder to Sebola, who was rounding up soldiers near the entrance of the town.

Astrid pushed a wary curl out of her face and gave a disapproving stare to Vesta. "Fine, whatever you say, Txourn, but we must talk later."

Txourn looked at her as patiently as he could. "Yes, Astrid." he bowed to her, and led the group further down the street, leaving her to stare enviously.

"What was that all about?" Zack asked.

"I'm betrowthed to her," Txourn said. "It's a messy situation."

Elena turned to look back. "Oh, so that's the little bitch who's keeping you two apart?" she said. "Want me to kill her?"

Tseng gave Elena a light push in the small of her back. "Keep walking," he said.

Cait bounced along side Reeve. "I think Reevey's scared!" he announced.

Reeve looked up. "I am not scared!" he said. "I'm just as brave as you-"

"Wait," Vesta said, stopping. "I think... Jenova is in there."

She pointed to one of the few talling buildings in Jonas, as it did not have many like Cepas. "I feel her energy."

Cloud shuddered. "Beileve it or not, I feel it too," he said. "So now what, do you fly us up?"

"That's what I'm thinking," Txourn said. "Let's go. Vesta and I will check to make sure she is in there, then we will get you all to start the battle."

The group followed Txourn and Vesta right up to the building, where the two Tzumarians nodded at each other before flying up.

"I just hope everyone's okay," Tifa said. "I don't know what Jenova and Hojo could be doing up there."

Cloud rubbed her shoulders. "Don't worry about it, whatever happens, we'll get through it."

Vincent leaned against the wall quietly.

"How are you doing?" Zack asked him. "Are you, uh... ready for this?"

Vincent stared at Zack intently with his burning red eyes. "I am ready to kill Hojo," was all he said.

Reeve paced nervously in front of Isabelle.

"Honestly, I don't think I'm ready for this," he said.

Isabelle checked the ammo in her machine gun. "Chill out, Reeve," she said. "You're not doing yourself any good pacing back and forth like that."

Tseng stood next to him. "Listen to her. Getting worked up is not going to help you at all."

Reno charged his electro rod and checked his materia. "Ready, Rude?"

Rude nodded and twirled his gun around his finger. "Yup."

Randy waved his bat in front of him. "I'm ready to kick some alien ass."

"What the fuck is taking so long?" Cid demanded. "My legs are falling asleep!"

"Patience," Sebola said from behind them.

"What?" Cid said. "Not you again-"

Txourn and Vesta flew back down to the ground. "We saw them," Vesta said.

"What's going on?!" Cloud and Zack said almost in sync.

"Jenova has a human form, eh?" Txourn mused. "She's got the silver haired one chained to a bed, and she's all over him. The Cetra are tied up, watching, and that professor guy is watching as well, taking notes is my guess."

Cloud turned red in anger. "Fly us up there, now!"

Txourn nodded. He turned to Sebola. "Gachi asta van!"

Sebola nodded, and he and other Tzumarian soldiers began to scoop AVALANCHE and their company up, carrying them to where the battle would take place.

Jenova covered Sephiroth's lips with hers, kissing him roughly. She pulled away from him and laughed.

"You like that?" she asked.

Sephiroth shook his head back and forth. "GET OFF OF ME!" he shouted with all his power.

Jenova reached back and slapped him across the face. Sephiroth growled, Hojo laughed, Tayeko cried, and Aeris squeezed her eyes as tightly shut as she could.

"I will not mate with you!" Sephiroth yelled.

"We'll see about that," Jenova laughed, trying to remove Sephiroth's belt.

Jenova was interrupted by the crash of broken glass. She whirled around to see a blur of people fall through the window. Her eyes went wide as she saw two Tzumarians stand, and those damn humans she had been bothered with before.

"What?" she asked, climbing off of Sephiroth.

Txourn stood, wiping glass off his suit. "Well, well, Jenova. Long time, no see, eh?"

Jenova folded her arms and frowned. "Txourn..."

Cloud helped Tifa stand, and looked at Jenova. "Give it up!" he shouted.

Jenova watched in anger as more humans were carried into her room by Tzumarians. Sebola and the troops hovered outside of the window.

Sephiroth was too shocked to speak. Aeris and Tayeko, unable to speak with the gags, stared at their friends in joy.

"Jenova," Hojo began. "What is going-"

"Shut up," Jenova snapped, still making eye contact with Txourn.

"This is it, Jenova," Txourn said. "You won't get away this time. My father was too kind, you should have been killed before."

Cloud unsheated his sword. "We're going to take care of that now!" he shouted. The others drew their weapons as well.

Sephiroth rattled his chains. "Cloud... Tifa! How... I thought..."

"Whatever you propose," Jenova said. She looked down at herself. "Well, I suppose there's no need for this anymore. Just give me a moment to get into something more... comfortable."

The entire room watched, silent and still, as Jenova was engulfed in a pale blue light as she began to transform. She fell to the floor, her skin turning blue, wings emerging from her back.

"Fascinating," Hojo murmered, watching in awe.

A few moments later, her transformation was complete. She stood up tall, still wearing the black dress. Her skin was blue, and purple wings protruded from her back, like the others. Her hair was now bone straight, the same silver color as Sephiroth's, and it hung long, past her waist, two long peices framing her beautifully scuplted face. Her eyes were red, and glowed brightly at her enemies. She was a stunningly beautiful creature.

She flipped her silver hair behind her back. "Now, I feel much better."

"GET ME OUT OF THESE CHAINS!" Sephiroth hollered.

"Patience, my love," Jenova said.

"Love?" Zack repeated.

Txourn stepped forward. "It's time," he said.

Jenova yawned. "Fine, fine. But it's so cramped in here. Shouldn't we go somewhere there is more room for a decent fight?"

Everyone looked at each other in confusion. Jenova snapped her fingers.

The entire group found themself in the middle of the same blue field they'd arrived in. Aeris, Tayeko, and Sephiroth were out of their binds and armed with their weapons.

"What...?" Sephiroth wondered.

Tayeko ran to him and embraced him.

"Don't worry," he said. "Get ready to fight."

"Aeris, are you alright?" Zack asked, grabbing Aeris and picking her up. "I was worried."

Aeris kissed Zack quickly on the lips. "Don't worry, everything's fine."

"Aeris, we had no idea happened," Cloud said.

Aeris smiled. "I didn't expect to see you or Tifa after what happened," Aeris said. "But we must talk later, now isn't the time."

Cid looked around. "There's the rocket!" he yelled. "What the fuck is she doing?"

"I brought you here, because there is so little chance that you will win this fight, yet it is so funny to see you all so tempted with the idea of winning and going home," Jenova answered. "And I have untied you three and given you your weapons, because it isn't as fun without seeing the two Cetra die. Sephiroth, I just want to see you fight, but I need you alive after I kill your friends."

Sephiroth gritted his teeth and pulled the Masamune out of its sheath.

Hojo stood beside Jenova and began setting up protective barriers around the alien.

"Damnit!" Txourn said. "He's in the way."

"We'll have to take care of him first," Tseng said.

Vincent took a step foward. "I will kill him," he said.

Sephiroth looked at him. "What? I am going to kill Hojo!"

"Hey, hey!" Tayeko yelled. "You can't argue over who's going to kill him, but it must be done quickly!"

Sephiroth looked back at Vincent, and understanding the look in his eyes, Vincent merely nodded.

The group was stunned when Jenova blasted Kat with a powerful ice spell. She crouched to her knees.

"Cold..." she whispered, he lips trembling.

"It's alright," Rufus whispered, wiping ice off her lips. He closed his eyes and concentrated on his materia. "Cure..."

Nothing happened.

"Ha, ha!" Jenova laughed. "I've nullified restore magic!"

"What?" Cloud yelled.

"You can't do that!" Vesta shouted.

Jenova laughed again. "Deal with it," she said. "This is a battle of survival! For you all, anyway."

Kat hugged her body and rocked back and forth, trying to fight the endless cold that pulled her nerve endings. Rufus, in anger, fired a shot from his shotgun at Jenova.

The alien easily deflected it. "You think that's gonna get rid of me?" she taunted.

Rufus, in a blind fit of rage, ran straight towards Jenova, fists up and flying. She frowned at him, and as he neared close, swept him to the side like a fly, sending him soaring backwards against the blue ground.

"Ugh..." he groaned in pain.

Isabelle nodded at Barret and together the two emptied rounds of ammo at the creature. Hojo quickly set up Wall on her, and the bullets bounced against the barrier and littered the ground.

"Damnit!" Barret cursed, throwing up his arms as Jenova laughed behind her sheild.

"We have to get rid of Hojo," Isabelle complained. "We'll never get through to her!"

Zack looked in Sephiroth's direction, who merely nodded, a cruel smile crossing his lips.

Zack stepped towards Hojo.

"You've got a lot of nerve!" he shouted across the battlefield. "First you mess up my mind and Cloud's, then you have the nerve to bring this demon-spawn alien back to life! Me and Striker are gonna show you good, isn't that right, Striker?"

Striker looked at Hojo and tossed a dagger in the air, catching it again. "That's right, Zack."

Hojo looked at the two ex-SOLDIERs strangely. "What do you two think you are going to do to -"

Hojo stopped his words when a sharp pain entered his lower back and surged through his abdomen. He looked down to the Masamune protruding from his stomach.

"Is this enough?"

The professor craned his neck around to see Sephiroth standing behind him, his green eyes glowing proudly. Hojo grabbed the front of the Masamune, feeling the blade cut his fingers as Sephiroth pulled it out of his back.

Hojo, staggering and stunned, turned fully to look at Sephiroth.

"Sephiroth...?" he mumbled in a bitter laugh. "You would stab your own father in the back?"

Sephiroth's gaze was cold. "I have hated you my entire life," he said to the professor. "You have taken everything from me, you have tortured me, ran my life in a complete hell... now it is your turn to suffer."

Jenova snarled in their direction, baring her teeth, as Zack and Striker backed off snickering.

Hojo laughed, touching the bloody wound in the front of his lab coat. He pulled off his glasses and stared at his son. "Ah... Sephiroth, how naive...," he mumbled. "You see, I have Jenova's cells too," he gestured towards Jenova, "Do you really think this wound will kill me?"

"Then perhaps this one will."

Hojo turned at the sound of the cold voice, just in time to see the Death Penalty aimed at his forehead. His monsterish yellow eyes widened in fear as they met Vincent's bloody red ones, and he never got the chance to react as Vincent pulled the trigger, the shot sending Hojo flying back on the ground. He landed in a bloody heap a few feet away, not moving.

The others stared in either disgust at Hojo's horribly wounded body, or in awe at Vincent's stoic rage. Sephiroth nodded at the man who once loved his mother, and they turned towards Jenova.

Jenova stared at Hojo's mangled body, her fists balled up and her eyes glowing in anger, her barrier dissipated now that Hojo was dead. She looked at the group.

"Fine," she snarled, taking a step closer as she surveyed the group. "He was never worth much anyway..."

Cloud looked at his group. "It's time to get our feet wet," he said.

The group charged ahead. Isabelle and Barret began their barrage of bullets again, most of which were deflected by Jenova. Sephiroth cast Bolt3, while Yuffie countered with Fire3. Tayeko, Reeve, Tseng, and Elena stood side by side and fired shots, while Striker tossed his daggers at the creature, though he often missed.

"Ha!" Jenova laughed, blocking almost all the attacks against her. "This the best you can do?"

Cloudc unsheated his sword. "Enough of this!" he shouted. "She's blocking all the magic! We need physical attacks."

"Righty-O!" Cait yelled, his moogle running towards Jenova. He attempted to bang her on the head with his megaphone, but she stopped him, grabbing him by his cape and holding him in front of her.

"You..." she snarled. "A helpless robot... out of my way!"

She tossed the poor stuffed cat high into the air, sending him flying. His moogle instinctively ran to catch him, but was too late, as Cait fell face first into the ground.

"Cait!" Reeve shouted at the top of his lungs. "Oh, no..."

"What?" Jenova taunted. "Miss your little friend?"

Reeve looked over at Cait, who was laying still on the ground. The huge moogle was crouched over Cait, pondering what to do when the little cat didn't move.

Reeve stared at Jenova and brought his pistol up.

"Monster..."

"Ah, ah, ah," teased. "You can't do that..."

She held her hand up, and a strange magnetic pulse formed, pulling Reeve, the gun still in his hand, right to her feet. Reeve fell to his knees from the force, and she snatched the gun out of his hand and slammed it into his face, causing him to cry out as he fell back, blood pouring from his broken nose.

"Stupid humans," she muttered. She brought her leg up high and kicked Reeve across his shoulders, sending him flying several feet across the dirt.

"Reeve!" Isabelle cried.

"What, another one?" Jenova said. "Everytime I get rid of one of you, another one gets angry and brave?"

Isabelle turned red in rage and raced foward, setting off her machine gun with a wild cry. Jenova blocked every bullet, and as Isabelle came near, grabbed the blonde by her ponytail.

"How foolish!" she said, as Isabelle tried to snatch her hair out of Jenova's grip. She held up a fist and punched Isabelle so hard in the stomach that she dropped her gun and fell to her knees in pain on the floor, before completely keeling over.

Jenova stepped away from where Isabelle's body had fallen. "Who's next?" she asked.

Randy ran foward and tapped his bat against the dirt as if he were up to bat in a game. "Alright, Miss tough-girl alien chick," he spat, "You think you can just throw Cait Sith around and hit the nicest gal I know in the stomach? You got another thing coming."

"What the hell is he doing?" Striker asked. Yuffie slapped her forehead and shook her head.

Jenova cocked her head to the side and stared at him. "What are you on about? Perhaps I should just rip you apart, starting with all that stupid metal you've got stuck in your face?"

Randy stuck his tounge out at her, flaunting his peircing. "I'd like to see you try, bitch!" He swung the bat back, ready to crack her in the face with it.

Jenova's palm shot up and stopped the bat middair, just inches away from her face. Her fist curled around it, and she used it to force Randy, who's hands were still holding the weapon, to his knees in front of her.

"Stupid!" she said, snatching the bat out of his hands.

"Please don't hit me," Randy begged, squeezing his eyes shut.

"Oh, a little too late for that now, hmm?" Jenova said.

Nearly everyone flinched as Jenova reached back and smashed the bat against the side of Randy's face, sending him sliding across the dirt.

"That had to fucking hurt," Cid said, staring at Randy's bloody face.

"That's what he gets for talking so much shit," Barret said.

Jenova dropped the bat and looked at the others. "So, who's next?" she asked.

Red raced foreward, unannounced, and lept into the the, fangs bared, attempting to tackle the alien. His plan backfired when she delivered a blow to his abdomen, middair.

"You need to try harder!" she said as Red flew back and rolled in the dirt. "Come on, can't you do better than that? Pathetic!"

Tseng stepped foreward. "Let the Turks handle this," he said.

"Yeah!" Elena added. The four trained killers nodded, and walked up to Jenova, circling around her.

"Ha!" she laughed. "And what is this?"

"We've had enough of your games," Tseng said. "It's time to die."

"We've got you surrounded," Rude quipped.

Jenova looked around at all of them. "Oh, are you people serious?"

"You wanna play with my rod?" Reno asked, whipping out his electro rod and charging it.

Jenova laughed. "This battle was never supposed to be funny..."

She whirled around and kicked Tseng flat in his chest, sending him flying across the battlefield. She grabbed Elena's wrist and literally threw her, smack into a large boulder. She kicked Rude's jaw and sent him soaring, and grabbed Reno's electro rod and fried him in his own side with it.

"That was too easy," she commented, brushing off her hands.

"I, I can't beileve it..." Yuffie stuttered. "She took out all the Turks...at once!"

"Damnit, I've had just about enough of this," Barret said, racing foreward. His gun arm let off blasts of bullets in the alien's direction, similar to the ill fated way Isabelle had. Jenova stopped the shooting spray by casting a powerful fire spell on Barret.

The big man fell to the floor. "The burns! The burns!" he shouted.

"We can't heal him!" Vesta cried.

"If we don't do something, we'll all die," Txourn said.

"I'm not fucking dying out here," Cid said, racing towards Jenova, the sharp edge of his spear pointed toward her.

Before the blade reached her abdomen, she grabbed the Venus Gospel and used the lance to flip Cid over into the air, causing him to land hard on his shoulder several feet away.

"Shit!" he cursed. "I think it's broken! I can't move!"

"I've had it!" Yuffie yelled. She took the Conformer and sent it flying at Jenova.

Jenova easily caught the flying weapon, and Yuffie's eyes widened in fear.

"Oh, shit..." she muttered to herself.

"Interesting," Jenova mused, staring at the shruekin. "But I thought children weren't supposed to run with sharp objects?"

Jenova launched the Conformer at incredible speed back at Yuffie, lodging the sharp edge right above her right breast before she could react. She looked down at the huge shruekin, stuck in her chest, and fainted on the ground from the pain.

"Yuffie!" Striker called, falling to her side.

"Pull the shruekin out!" Sephiroth yelled. "You can't leave it in the wound!"

Striker thanked the gods that the weapon had missed any major organ. He closed his eyes, made a tight grip around the Conformer, and ripped it from her chest, hearing Yuffie's gut wrenching scream.

"Hey!" Jenova yelled. "No first aid allowed!"

Striker kissed Yuffie's forehead, who was crying and gasping in pain. She fainted again.

Striker looked at Jenova with fire in his hazel eyes. "Zack, let's go."

Zack nodded and ran towards Jenova from behind her, holding his buster sword up, ready to slash down on her. However, she was much too swift, and quickly turned, kicking Zack square in the chest and sending him flying backward. He landed on the ground, hitting his head.

Striker pulled out a dagger and ran towards Jenova in a blind rage. He tried to stab her, but she grabbed his wrist and pulled the dagger out of his grip. She then stabbed him in the side with it, causing him to holler in pain.

Txourn waved the Flambert in the air. "Stop this, Jenova," he demanded. "Or I will be forced to kill you myself."

"Really?" Jenova said mockingly.

Vesta stepped foward, holding her water rod up. "You won't win," she said.

Jenova flew toward Vesta and grabbed her by her long braid. She slapped the Tzumarian across the face, and snatched the water rod from her grip. She used the blunt end of the staff to knock Vesta in the stomach, sending her keeling on the ground.

"I've warned you," Txourn said, bringing the Flambert down to slash.

Jenova grabbed the sword in her hands, stopping Txourn in his tracks and holding the weapon in the small space between them. She looked past where she held the sword up, deep into his tourquoise eyes.

"Even you, Txourn, cannot win against me," she whispered, using the Flambert to slash Txourn across his chest. He fell to his knees, gripping the wound.

Cloud looked around frantically. "We're fading fast!"

Fearing that their time was running short, Vincent began to erupt into Chaos. The transformations was painful, as the blacked wings pulled pulled from Vincent's frail body as the emerged from him back. He screamed as claws tore through the skin of his hands, and his chest emerged into that of a powerful creature.

With the transformation complete, the demonic beast flew over Jenova. It slashed at her with a claw, and she rolled on the floor to avoid it.

"Ha!" she laughed, standing up. "Shoo fly, don't bother me!"

Jenova opened her hands and sent a powerful engery blast at Chaos. The winged demon crashed to the ground, and in the injury reverted back to Vincent, who lay still and bloody in the dirt.

Tifa raced foward and tried to pummel Jenova with a powerful punch, but the alien grabbed her by her neck.

"I wouldn't expect to see you here," she said, lifting her off the ground. "What about your dear little baby?"

Tifa wheezed in response.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Jenova said in mock remorse. "I know you wanted to show me that little Final Heaven punch you have, but instead, let me see if I can match it up."

Tifa's eyes went wide as Jenova's fist flew towards her face, sending her flying backward quite a distance in the dirt. Aeris covered her mouth in fear.

Cloud ran to Tifa. "Tifa!" he cried. "Say something, please! Are you alright? Teef?"

Tifa meerly groaned in response.

"Well, just look at what's left," Jenova mused, laughing. "My two children with my cells, and the two Cetra. How fitting."

"We are not your children!" Sephiroth screamed.

Cloud held his sword high and stepped toward Jenova. "I'm going to kill you," he said. "You've nearly killed all of my friends..."

Jenova laughed. "Really, I don't see how it matters," Jenova said. "I'm just going to kill you, too."

Before Cloud could react, Jenova kicked him so hard in his chest he flew all the way back near Tifa. He groaned, looking at the battle field in pain as his vision blurred, wondering how they would win this fight.

"You see, I got rid of all of them, because they just aren't important," Jenova explained. "And I left them just alive enough to see whats going to happen to you."

"Nothing's going to happen to us!" Sephiroth shouted, racing towards Jenova with the Masamune. The alien stopped his attack and sent him flying face first into the ground with an engery blast.

"I can't kill you Sephiroth, but you're going to have to stay out of my way," Jenova said. "Now, for the best part..."

Jenova walked over to where Aeris was crouched over Zack, who was too weak to move. The Cetra looked up at her, green eyes wide with fear.

"Aeris..." Zack whispered, wishing he could protect her.

In a sudden move, Jenova snatched Aeris up by her neck. She held her up in the center of the battle field, the others watching from where they lay on the ground in bloody, broken heaps.

"I am going to rip this little bitch apart, limb by limb," Jenova declared to everyone. "She is going to die a miserable, painful, tortureful death, right before your very eyes! Why? Because I hate her! I am going to -"

"STOP!"

Jenova stopped her speech and glared at the source of the frustrated voice. Tayeko was standing in front of her, her hands on her hips.

"Put her down!" she yelled. "I am going to stop you!"

Jenova looked at Aeris, who was crying, wheezing to get air through her chokehold. She looked back at Tayeko.

"How?" she asked sardonically. "With those cheap handguns?"

Cid spat blood where he lay on the floor, trying to sit up. "They weren't cheap," he muttered, though no one heard him.

Tayeko looked at her guns. Jenova was right. They obviously weren't going to do anything in this fight.

"Well, well?" Jenova said, dropping Aeris to the floor. "You challenged me to a fight, just like your pathetic human counterparts. I wonder if you can use your Cetra blood and do something special? And sorry, you can't summon Holy! Ha!"

Tayeko had to think fast. What could she do? The materia she had in her pistols wouldn't do a thing to a creature like Jenova.

Breathe...

Tayeko looked around. If she didn't think of something...

"Use your materia!"

Tayeko whirled around at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. Who had said that?

Vincent sat up, wiping blood from his face. "Lucrecia!" he yelled.

Everyone stared at Lucrecia as she came close. She had wondered in from the forest area.

"Mother!" Sephiroth yelled. Lucrecria ran to him and embraced him where he lay on the floor.

"My son..." she cried, running her hands down his hair. She kissed his forehead and walked over to Vincent.

Jenova's eyes went wide. "You..."

"I came here because I wanted to destroy you," Lucrecia said to the "Goddess" who had ruined her life and haunted her dreams. "You ruined my entire life."

She fell on her knees besides Vincent, carefully touching his bloody face. "You stole everything from me!" she shouted at Jenova. "But I realize I cannot do anything, not like this... but this girl *will* kill you... I know she can."

Jenova laughed down at Lucrecia. "You miserable, weak, love stricken fool!" she critized. "What do you know?"

The others waited patiently for Lucrecia's response. "She carries the silver materia," Lucrecia said with a small smile, running her fingers through Vincent's hair. "The Numori summon. She can destroy you, for good."

Jenova looked confused. "What?"

Tayeko looked down into the orb she wore around her neck. It suddenly began glowing green, the color of the Lifestream.

"Listen to my mother, Tayeko!" Sephiroth called to her. "Use the orb!"

"Hurry!" Aeris cried.

Tayeko saw all the answers she needed there in the core of the Silver Materia. It was as if she could hear the Cetra guiding her, telling her what to do.

She suddenly snatched the chain off her neck and held it up high in the night sky. It glowed even more powerfully.

"What are you doing...?" Jenova attempted to ask.

Tayeko stared directly at Jenova. "Numori, the Star of all Powers ," she whispered softly. "Destroy the evil, and summon the light to heal the strong, the brave, the good the right..."

Everyone stared at Tayeko, waiting for something to happen, when a lighting bolt cracked in the air above. The sky then opened up, and a bright, hot, white energy, almost like a star, descended from the heavens and fell down over the battle field.

Jenova screamed at the top of her lungs as a burning hot white blast surged through over her body at incredible speed. She screamed a murderous sound, feeling the blast tear her flesh away from her body, and her dark, purple tinged red blood boil as it spilled out of her veins and wasted away, droplet by droplet into the powerful blast. Her red eyes were wide in horror as they too melted and faded away, and her hair dissolved like sparkling silver dust as the light slowly disapeared.

Jenova was gone.

Not only had the Numori blast eradicated Jenova, but had healed the other warriors. They began to slowly pull themselves together.

Tayeko fell to her knees and dropped the chain on the floor. She keeled over and gasped for air, her eyes wide. She put one hand over her heart, her eyelids growing heavy again.

"Tayeko!" Sephiroth yelled. He got to his feet and ran to her, catching her in his arms.

"Tayeko!" he cried. "What's wrong?"

Tayeko closed her eyes and fell back against his chest. "I... I feel so weak..."

Sephiroth brushed her hair out of her face. "You'll be fine..."

"No..."

Zack ran to Aeris and grabbed her as tightly as he could. "What's going on?" he whispered.

Aeris looked worriedly at Tayeko. "Something's wrong..."

Tayeko coughed a bit. "It's... over... Sephiroth. Go... home."

Sephiroth shook his head and squeezed her. "We're going home together. Come on."

Tayeko opened her eyes. The bright, glowing purple orbs stared deeply into his mako enhanced green ones, searching for his soul. "I can't... Sephi...roth..."

Sephiroth bit his bottom lip. "Stop! We have to go!"

Cid sat up on his knees. "Hey... what the fuck is wrong?"

Striker helped Yuffie sit up. "I don't know...."

Tayeko closed her eyes again. "I love you, Sephiroth..."

Sephiroth blinked. "I love you too, Tayeko... but..."

She wasn't breathing.

Sephiroth felt frantically for her heartbeat. Nothing.

"NO!" he shouted to the sky, shaking her body in his arms. "This can't be! It can't!"

Red shook his head. "That summon must have taken so much energy that it killed her," he whispered solemnly.

"What's wrong with Tay?" Cait asked Reeve in a small voice.

Reeve was holding Isabelle in his arms where they knelt on the floor. "I don't think she's gonna make it," he said quietly looking at the floor. Isabelle wiped a tear from her eye.

Cait's ears drooped and he looked down. "I wish I could cry..." he whispered.

Tseng grabbed Elena and hugged her tightly.

"What's happening?" she whispered.

Tseng held a finger to her lips. "I don't know," he answered.

Cloud sat up and embraced Tifa, who had crawled over him. She sobbed into his chest, and he looked over her shoulder at the scene in the center of the battle field.

Was Sephiroth crying?

The man who had never shown compassion in his life, was kneeling on the floor, Tayeko in his arms, sobbing his heart out into her hair. Cloud looked down at the top of Tifa's head thoughtfully and stroked her hair.

"Oh, no," Aeris whispered, covering her mouth with her hands. "I feared this would happen... it killed her."

Zack continued to hold Aeris, who began sobbing uncontrollably. He stared at Sephiroth and Tayeko, an emptiness forming in his own heart.

Lucrecia's eyes filled with tears as well. It broke her heart to see her son like this. She had studied the Silver Materia when she was a scientist, and she feared this would happen, but it had been the only way to destroy Jenova.

Sephiroth rocked Tayeko's smaller body in the shell of his. His tears ran into her hair, and he was ready to pull out his own sword and stab himself to death when a hand clamped down on his shoulder.

He turned to see Vincent kneeling behind him, his cape flowing around him. Lucrecia stood a few feet behind him, her dress blowing with the wind, tears lining her face.

"I once said that an overpowering love will consume one in the end," Vincent said to Sephiroth, the others listening quietly and intently. "And I still beileve this statement to be true. However..."

He turned on his heel and pointed to Zack and Aeris. "Look at them. Zack nearly died. He was separated from Aeris for five years. She thought he had forgotten her, or at the very worst died. Zack couldn't even remember his name. But their love, I beileve, is what brought them together again."

He turned to Cloud and Tifa. "Cloud nearly killed Tifa himself while under Jenova's influence. He risked the life of her child, and could have destroyed his entire world. The last time you saw Tifa she was bleeding to death in a hospital. But where is she now? Cloud and Tifa are together, after the many obstacles they have faced. It is their love that holds them together."

Vincent stood and stared at Lucrecia. "She... your mother. Your mother was snatched from me almost thirty years ago. I thought I had lost her forever... I so dwelt on my pain that I locked myself away... but yet, what has happened? Lucrecia is here with me, again. Our love brought us together...If that is not proof enough, I do not know what is."

Vincent kneeled beside Sephiroth again. "Your love will keep you together," he said. He looked down at where Sephiroth's hand rested at the hilt of the Masamune. "But do not let it consume you."

Vincent slowly stepped away from Sephiroth, and Lucrecia held his good arm. Sephiroth looked back down at Tayeko, who was still lifeless in his arms.

An overpowering love...

Sephiroth held her face in his hands and looked at her. She was so beautiful, so perfect... like an angel... a dark angel, with pure, porceline skin and raven rair. Her features were so delicate, so perfectly sculpted.

"I love you..."

Sephiroth brought his lips down on Tayeko's. He kissed her passionately for a long moment, his feelings, emotions, being transferred through the kiss.

He broke away and stared at her face through his tear clouded eyes. For a while he just sat there, staring at her face, until suddenly, her eyes fluttered open, staring up at him, the bright purple orbs slowly dialating.

"My God," Lucrecia whispered, squeezing Vincent's arm.

Cloud blinked. She was alive?

"What the fuck?" Cid said aloud.

"Sephiroth," Tayeko whispered.

Sephiroth kissed her again. "I love you," he whispered. "I love you more than my life, more than anything..."

"Didn't I make a joke about this?" Reno said to Rude. "That somebody's prince has got to kiss 'em to wake 'em up?"

Rude shook his head and chuckled.

"I love you too, Sephiroth," Tayeko said, kissing him back. "I always have."

Sephiroth held her close. "I want to be with you for eternity," he said. "I never want you to leave my side."

Tayeko smiled up at him. "Is that a proposal?"

Sephiroth smiled back. "I suppose it is.

Sephiroth stood, and helped Tayeko stand. Cloud, completely awe-stricken, stood as well.

"I..."

Tifa kissed him. "Don't worry about it, Cloud," she said. "I know how you feel."

Txourn and Vesta ran over. "Are you alright?" Vesta asked.

Tayeko nodded. "I'm fine."

Aeris ran and embraced Tayeko. "God!" she screamed. "You had me so worried! I thought you were a goner!"

Tayeko looked down at her chain, which she still held gripped in her hand. "Yeah, so did I..."

The others came over and hugged her as well.

"Thanks, Tay," Tifa said. "You saved us all."

"We couldn't have fucking done it without you," Cid brazenly said.

Tayeko blushed. "Oh, guys..."

Randy tapped her shoulder. "Yeah! I gotta thank you for healing us... my face was kinda sore."

"Well, that's because you're a fool!" Rufus suddenly yelled. He was holding Kat around her waist from behind. "You're damn stupid! How do you figure on attacking Jenova with a baseball bat?"

"Screw you, Rufus," Randy spat. "I'd like to see you do better!"

"It doesn't matter," Striker said, hoping to stop a fight. "Jenova's dead. We can all go home happy and alive, thanks to Tayeko!" He hugged Tayeko tightly, lifted her into the air, spun her around, and landed her with a kiss on the cheek.

"Oh... gosh..." Tayeko giggled, blushing slightly.

"We have alot we can say about ourselves now, guys," Yuffie said, scratching Red behind the ears. "We came all the way to Tzumron, and defeated Jenova! Well, Tayeko did that."

Vesta looked down from where she and Txourn stood together. "I hate to see this all end so soon," she said.

"Right," Txourn agreed. "We'd known you all for such a short time. Won't you stay a while longer?"

Cloud shook his head. "We really can't. We've got to get home."

"I have an *extremely* important surgery," Tifa explained.

"That's right!" Aeris gasped happily. "The baby!"

"Ohh!" Cait cheered, bouncing on his moogle. "Tifa's having a baby, Tifa's having a baby," he shouted into his megaphone.

"She's not having the baby yet, Cait," Reeve explained. "We've got to wait nine months."

Cait stopped bouncing, "Oh..."

Isabelle laughed. "Cait, your so adorable."

"I have just one question," Tseng said from where he and Elena held hands. "Lucrecia, how are you alive? Can you explain this?"

Lucrecia smiled. "I've been alive, all these years," she explained. "And just like Vincent, my body won't age. Jenova's cells in me had weakened me to a stage where I could not leave my "cave" without being rendered totally helpless. I'd fade out, till I wasn't visible."

"But now that Jenova is dead, her cells will finally be dormant in me, and I may be able to lead a somewhat normal life..." she looked at Vincent and reached up to kiss him on the cheek. "Somewhat," she repeated, laughing.

"Awright!" Barret shouted. "I gotta see Marlene!"

Cloud nodded. "He's right, it really is time for us to go."

Vesta nodded, trying not to cry. "We will miss you all so much," she said.

"Vesta's right," Txourn agreed. "We've never met humans before, but you all are our friends, no matter what your race. And... that goes for the Cetra too."

Aeris and Tayeko nodded and smiled.

The group walked towards the rocket, and began ascending the ramp. Txourn and Vesta stood at the bottom and waved.

"Never forget us!" Vesta cried.

"We won't!" Tifa yelled back.

"Yeah! And I hope everything works out between you two," Elena said.

Txourn and Vesta held each other close as they watched their only human friends wave from the ramp of the spacecraft that would take them home.

"They were wonderful people," Vesta sighed, resting her head on Txourn's shoulder.

Txourn nodded and smiled. "They were, weren't they?"

"I'm sure gonna miss this place," Tifa sighed, looking at the blue landscape.

"I am too," Isabelle agreed.

"I didn't get a chance to see it's beauty," Aeris sighed. "Everything is blue."

"Yeah, even the fruit," Reno commented. "Right Elena?"

"Shut up, Reno!" she yelled back, elbowing him.

"What about fruit?" Tayeko asked.

"Ohh, it's a long story, you don't want to know," Yuffie said.

Striker looked down at Txourn and Vesta, who were still waving. "You know, messing around with Jenova and them coming here, you see how easy it is to become biased," he said.

"That's right," Red agreed. "We thought all Tzumarians would be evil monsters like she was, just like Txourn and Vesta had some reservations at first about Aeris and Tayeko because they were Cetra."

"I just thought they were gonna all be big nasty E.T. aliens," Randy said. "But they look normal.. and some of the ladies I saw were kinda hot!"

"Oh GAWD!" Yuffie yelled.

"Yeah, they looked like humans, only with wings, blue skin, and strange hair," Kat said.

"Txourn was pretty good looking," Isabelle added.

"Oooohh..." Cait murmered.

"But of course, not better looking than Reeve!" Isabelle quickly added, clapping him on the shoulder.

"Well, I didn't think that goddamn Sebola was good looking," Cid said. "I mean... shit, not that I would.... but he was a big, ugly, nasty looking MFer."

"Cid, you just didn't like Sebola," Zack laughed.

"Yeah," Barret added. "I think Cid's scared of him!"

Cid turned red in anger as the others laughed. "Goddamnit... shut the fuck up, Barret! You're always so quick to take the other side!"

"That's because you make it so easy, Cid," Vincent added.

Cid stomped hard on the ramp. "Don't you start too!"

Tayeko laughed into Sephiroth's chest. "What a goofy bunch of friends we have," she said.

"Hmph.." Sephiroth muttered, touching her hair. "Friends..."

"Alright, enough of the party on the ramp," Cid barked, opening the door. "Come on!"

"Yeah," Cloud said triumphantly. "Let's go home."
