Harper’s contact with Yeager definitely had its repercussions. He retained some of the knowledge from the Perseid, including knowing the plans of the ‘entity’ in the future.
Gift, Curse, it all depends on how you look at it.
Admiral Constanza Stark
The Andromeda is flying through space, when they come across an asteroid field.
Dylan: “Mr. Harper, nice and slow.”
Harper: “Right.”
They get through a small part of the field, temporarily in an empty spot in space.
Harper: “Aaaaahhhh!” Holds his head in pain.
Dylan: “You ok? What’s going on?”
Harper: “Shoot, we gotta get out of here.”
Dylan: “Yeah, I know, Asteroid fields aren’t the safest place for a ship.”
Harper: “Dylan, that’s not what I mean.”
Dylan: Suddenly interested “What do you mean?”
Harper: “I can’t explain it, there’s something here,
something, I don’t know, all I know is we better get out of here.”
Dylan: “Alright, then, Rev, find us a place to duck and cover.”
Rev: “There appears to be a very large asteroid directly ahead, perhaps we can hide behind it.”
Harper: “NO, no, get away from there, far away from there.”
Dylan: “Mr. Harper, do you have any suggestions?”
Harper: “Hard one eighty, now straight ahead, there.”
Dylan: “Harper, that headache didn’t look good, go to Med Deck.”
LATER IN MED DECK
Dylan: “What’s wrong?”
Harper: “Nothing, really, I’m good.”
Trance: “There didn’t appear to be anything wrong at first, but I did a magnification right here (points at diagram of Harper’s brain), and look. The strange thing is that that looks like the neural toxin when Harper held all the information in his brain.”
Dylan: “But we, I mean Harper, erased it, stored it somewhere outside his body.”
Trance and Dylan look at Harper
Harper: “What? What, you think I kept some of the knowledge?”
Trance: “Did you?”
Harper: “Since when are you asking the questions, I thought it was your job to avoid answering them, what’s your species, Trance?”
Trance: “I asked first.”
Harper: “Technically, nope, I did, on the Maru, remember?”
Trance looks at Harper like, tell me.
Dylan: “Never mind, we can deal with that later, Harper, what were you talking about back there, what’s on the asteroid?”
Harper: “Something, I can’t explain it, at least not any more. It’s something, and it did something in the past, and it plans on doing, well, something in the future.”
Dylan: “Helpful, maybe we should go check it out for ourselves, then?”
Harper: “Dylan, no, no, don’t do that, I don’t know what it is, but it’ll kill you if you get near it.”
Dylan (laughing a little): “How can you know it’ll kill me if you have no idea of what it is?”
Harper (Smiling nervously): “Instinct?”
Dylan: “right, well, I’m going to look into this sooner or later, but I’ll wait until you feel more comfortable, ok?”
Harper: “Right.”
Flashback/vision/whatever you want to call it
Magog, attacking and killing, he sees people dying. Suddenly he recognizes the planet, Asgard, he had been there a couple of years ago, but why?
End vision
Harper: “Asgard, why? (Suddenly a look of realization comes on his face) That’s pretty much the most peaceful place in the galaxy, one of the only places where Nietzscheans and Humans can live in peaceful co existence. So Logically, Oh Crap!”
Harper gets up and leaves Med Deck, desperately trying to find Dylan. He rushes around the ship, and eventually runs into Tyr.
Tyr: “Where are you going?”
Harper: “I gotta find Dylan, you seen him?”
Tyr: “Yes, he’s on the obs deck, why?”
Harper: “Asgard-” He stops talking
Tyr: “Yes? We’re headed there soon, to try to get them to join the Commonwealth.”
Harper: “Yes, yes, I see, well, if I can’t talk to
Dylan, there won’t be anyone there to negotiate with.”
Tyr is puzzled at this comment, but lets Harper go without any more questions.
Tyr: “You will find it more efficient in the future to simply ask the Andromeda, instead of rushing around the ship, hoping you run into him.”
Harper: “Yeah, I’ll remember that next time, bye.”
Harper soon finds Dylan.
Harper: “Dylan, I really gotta talk to you.”
Dylan: “Oh, had anymore visions? (Laughs a little)”
Harper: “Yeah, actually, um, we gotta go to Asgard.”
Dylan: “Yeah, we’ll go in a couple of weeks, they have offered to negotiate.”
Harper: “I mean now, like, right now.”
Dylan: “Harper, what basis do you have for your statements?”
Harper: “I don’t know, I’ve just started to have these visions, again, I don’t know how to explain them, they’re just there.”
Dylan: “Like when you had the er knowledge?”
Harper: “Yeah.”
Dylan: “What do you think it is?”
Harper: “I’ve thought a lot about it, I mean, it’s
just too freaky, and it seems like this is, TRUE.”
Dylan: “Why don’t we get you to Med Deck?”
Harper (sarcastically): “That did a lot of good last time.”
Down in Med Deck
Harper: “You think I could connect with the computer, so you can see what I do?”
Dylan: “Well it’s worth a shot anyway.”
Harper: “Thanks for the vote of confidence.”
Harper plugs himself into the computer, a viewscreen comes on, showing a beautiful planet under Magog attack.”
Rev: “Magog? But I do not recognize any of this architecture.”
Dylan: “Rommie, where would this be located?”
Rommie: “Judging from the scenery, cross referenced with Maru’s database, it could be one of two planets.”
Dylan: “which are?”
Rommie: “Either Vanahiem or Asgard”
Dylan: “Asgard?”
Rommie: “It would seem that it is Vanahiem, Asgard is one of the more peaceful Planets in the galaxy.”
Dylan: “No.”
Rommie: “Captain?”
Dylan: “Harper mentioned Asgard, he kept telling us we had to get there, now, soon, he was in a hurry, why?”
Rommie: “Could the Persied have transferred the information of the future plans of (beat) the entity into Harper’s brain?”
Dylan: “But he transferred it, well, out of his brain, at least.”
Trance: “Did anyone actually see him do it?”
Dylan: “No, you think he kept some of the information?”
Rommie: “Judging from the recent events, that would seem to be the case.”
Dylan: “Look at that, Rommie, back it up.”
Rommie: “I’m going to have to disconnect Harper from my main computer.”
Becka pulls the connection out. Rommie backs the now recorded thought up.
Dylan: “There, look, Mr. Harper, could you please do an enhancement?”
Harper: “Right.”
Soon Harper walks onto; he goes over to a computer console.
Harper: “You know you asked me to do an enhancement? Well, here it is.”
We see the same blue entity leading the Magog attacking the people on the planet’s surface.
Dylan: “So, what he was after was much more important than just the past, Harper’s brain also carried the future. Harper take us into slipstream.”
Harper: “Transferring to slipstream in 5 4 3 2 1.”
The Andromeda enters Slipstream. A few moments later it emerges in a beautiful system, one where peace dominates over hatred. Dylan looks a little bewildered, a little sad.
Dylan: “It looks almost as if it was frozen in time with me.”
Harper: “But not if we don’t make sure the Magog stay out, we’re gonna have to fight them after they exit slipstream.”
Dylan: “right.”
A Group of Magog ships exits slipstream; they are led by a bluish light.
Harper: “Oh great!”
The Andromeda fights, destroying ships, trying to keep them from reaching the inhabited planets. But one gets through; it disappears and appears at one of the inhabited planets. The Andromeda rushes to the planet, destroying the ship.
Harper: “They’re on the surface.”
The crew looks at Harper.
Trance: “I’d listen to him if I were you.”
Tyr: “We’re going to fight off a Magog attack?! Have you gone insane?”
Dylan: “Harper, Tyr, Becka, come with me, Trance, Rev, Rommie, be prepared to get out of here if necessary.”
Tyr: “Apparently.”
Rommie: “We won’t leave you.”
Dylan: “If the Andromeda is in danger, you are to leave immediately, is that clear?”
Rommie: “Yes sir.”
On the surface of the planet they are fighting Magog, getting civilians inside shelters, the tide seems to be in their favor, seeing as one Magog ship holds only small numbers of Magog, but there is damage being done. Eventually no Magog are left, and victory seems to be theirs, they reach the blue entity.
Dylan: “Look!”
Tyr shoots, but the bullet is absorbed with ease. Tyr looks on in astonishment. The entity grabs Tyr, threatening to kill him.
Harper: “NO! Let him go!!”
Harper shoots the entity, but with even less luck.
The entity lifts and throws him to the ground, knocking him unconscious.
Tyr: “Dammit boy, learn from my mistakes!!”
Harper gets up, dazed, and the entity let’s Tyr go, waving its hand before disappearing.
Dylan (confused): “he’ll be back.”
Harper: “What?”
Dylan: “Yes, he told me right before he left, and if we opposed him, we would experience his true power.”
Tyr: “So, what do you propose to do?”
Dylan: “I guess we’ll learn and deal with it as it comes.”
Harper: “Sounds like a plan.”
Aboard the Andromeda, an entity passes through Rommie’s central computer system, leaving a trail of threats.
Becka: “What does it mean?”
Rommie (translating as she reads): “I will be back, and you will not stop me, you have only begun to feel my powers, and if interrupted again, I will not be as forgiving.”
Becka: “They call this forgiving?”
Dylan, on viewscreen.
Dylan: “Permission to come aboard. (Smiles)”
The airlock opens and the three come aboard.
Later on the obs deck
Heddamu: “You have saved the system and government which we worked so hard to build, the civilization we fought to keep, we are forever in your debt.”
Dylan: “We were scheduled for a negotiation in a couple of weeks, but since we’re right here-”(Heddamu interrupts)
Heddamu: “I see no reason why we shouldn’t join.”
Dylan: “Well, that’s certainly the easiest negotiation we have had.”
Heddamu: “You call fighting off a Magog attack easy?”
Dylan: “You’ve got a point.” (Laughs)
They sign and we fade out seeing the manuscript with the signatures.
