I remember mornings waking by your side
Your scent on the pillow
Fever in your eyes
Lead me to your harbour
Cover me in splender
Drown me in delusion and desire
Ride me like a wave

I lay tangled in white cotton sheets.  The salty scent of the ocean outside the bay window mingles with the scent of Beka so close to me.  A cool breeze rustles the translucent curtains and rouses Beka from a light sleep.  She yawns and glances at me - her icy blue eyes warm with the glow of fulfilled desire.  It feels strangely familiar, though last night was the first I'd spent with her.  I hadn't expected to spend the last night of my shore leave in her arms, and I remain uncertain whether last night will repeat itself.

Dawn is beginning to peek from beyond the endless expanse of gently rippling sapphire water outside the window, casting shadows around the room.  The quiet rush of the tide fills the small beachside bed and breakfast room.

"Wanna go walk on the beach?" Beka asks, slipping her arm from around me to stretch her hands behind her head.

I nod.  "You could order breakfast from room service now.  It would be here when we return," I suggest.

"Good idea.  I'm already hungry."  Beka rises and walks across the creaking wood floor to the discreet room service console built into the dresser.

As she punches buttons, I quietly approach her from behind and place light kisses on the soft  naked skin of her neck and back.  She leans backward into me, sighing contently, as she completes her order.  I trail the kisses down the shallow concave of her spine to the very sensitive small of her back.

"Mmmmmmmm..."  She pauses for a moment as my kisses move up from the small of her back onto her shoulder.  "If you're going to do that, I think I'd rather stay here."

"I could stop," I whisper into her skin, with no intention of actually doing so.  I want at least one more opportunity to be with her, if this will come to an end when we return to Andromeda.

"Nah.  Walking on the beach is highly overrated.  Planets in general are, for that matter."

Beka turns around suddenly and passionately kisses me, pulling me into a tight embrace.  She takes control and leads me back to the bed.  I'm content to fill the submissive role and cast aside my usual responsibilities as she covers me in a deluge of fervent kisses and caresses.

Chart my secret places
Navigate my shores
Map the oceans traces
Lick them from my pores
Drown me in delusion and desire
Ride me like a wave

Forgotten cold scrambled eggs, toast, and coffee sit on the chest in the corner of the room.  I assume that the sating of one of Beka's hungers has masked the other temporarily.  She lays on the bed, holding me and catching her breath.  Her fair skin shimmers in the soft morning light with the perspiration brought about by our activities.  I brush a stray strand of soft blonde hair from her face.  I again wonder if this is a...one night (and one morning) stand.

I break the comfortable silence between us.  "Shore leave ends in six hours."

"Mhmmmm.  The owner of this bed and breakfast is going to come ask us to leave in an hour anyway."

"We have another shore leave in a month on Lindway Drift..." I begin.

"We've also got 55 minutes now and when no one is around to catch us back on Andromeda."

"So this isn't a one night stand?" I ask, to be certain.

"I don't do one night stands with friends," Beka says.  "I've wanted this for a long time, and from what I can tell, so have you."

"It has been coming for a long time," I agree.

"Coming for a long time?  Good idea," Beka says with a devilish grin and captures my lips in another kiss.

Hide me in your hollows
Taste the salt that clings to me
Shipwrecked in your shadows
Sanctify the sea
Hide me in the wisdom of your thighs
Ride me like a wave
